These non-meat alternatives are all pumped full of unnatural stuff and things that our natural body chemistry doesnt accommodate. The stuff is full of estrogen, for example.

One other thing is that they are almost always unhealthier. They basically have to put so much crap into it to make it taste even somewhat edible, and its often the salt content.

To summarize the whole thing, its more expensive, its smells and tastes disgusting, its less healthy, and its full of all kinds of hormones.
It doesn't matter how hot your take is if it's predicated on falsehoods.

GREAT point.

I recall at one point the dairy industry made the govt change the law so margarine was dyed orange in order to protect butter. The food industry is dirty dirty dirty.

Thanks for the links!
That said, this whole organic and non-GMO push? Again, follow the money. Cui bono? Who benefits from making people feel afraid of their existing food? Who benefits from promoting orthorexia?

You should look into how the egg and dairy industries rely on and support the meat industry. They dont exist in a vacuum.

and ffs, just go vegan. Why do you need to eat crickets?

With chickens, we tend to raise Broiler breeds (both males and females) when they're to be slaughtered for meat. For egg producing facilities the males are culled as chicks and have a different breeding strain. There's certainly overlap in terms of technology and feed but divergent practices. The model of "turn into meat once dairy is complete" is not the modern one.

I suspect similar for milk-producing cows vs meat makers, thanks for selective breeding.

There are massive amounts of estrogen and other hormones in these things, specifically when they are presented as a meat substitute. For example, veggie burgers.

Those are more attributed to the commercial herbicides used on the plant than the plant itself. Notably glyphosate.

I dont need to prove things that have been known for years. Youre the one backpedaling to try to prove that this unnatural diet is somehow good for you.

whatever floats your boat, man

i just dont like eating things with massive amounts of added estrogen and stuff. Same with most people, really

How is modern, commercial meat natural? The livestock is riddled with growth hormones and antibiotics.

Burgers bought at McD's/BK/etc have comparable levels of sodium.

The only reason a meat burger is cheaper atm is due to agricultural subsidies, which imo need to be dialed back and given to more environmentally friend sectors like soy/pea/dairy production.

estrogen-burger-helping-men-grow-boobies-since-2019/

The Impossible Whopper has 44 mg of estrogen, and a regular Whopper has 2.5 ng of estrogen. Now, let me refresh your metric system. There are 1 million nanograms (ng) in one milligram (mg). That means an Impossible Whopper has 18 million times as much estrogen as a regular whopper, according to Tri-State Livestock News.

I mean, that's a neat video that kind of dances around the subject, but it doesn't address the fact that cancer doesn't just magically happen. It's a side effect of a problem at the cellular, genetic and epigenetic levels, and glyphosate specifically is linked to some negative effects on soil, as well as animal and human health.

Im sorry to say it, but fake meat is one of the unhealthiest things you can eat. Its just not where it needs to be and real meat is hands down more natural, better, and better for you.

Way better feed to food ratio, emits minimal greenhouse gas, good nutritional profile.

Cows/chicken are better off producing milk/eggs.

Looking as well now. I have always been interested in crickets and other insects as a more sustainable protein source.

I doubt you could ever get the general public to eat them though. Too much ick factor for many...
