So someone on the FFVIII board recently discovered a weird glitch that lets you warp directly to Odin upon entering the Centra Ruins.

Basically, you go in, activate the staircase so you don't get stuck afterwards, leave and re-enter while holding the square button, and it'll send you straight to Odin.

The downside is that it lowers the timer to 1:30, which means you can't just squat on the fight to get 100 Triples, but it's a neat little glitch.

Also the main heroine gets kidnapped by a creepy guy who threatens to rape her.

Happens to another heroine in the third arc, too, though it's a way smaller element there and is therefore less annoying (though I kinda prefer arc 2 to arc 3 for the most part anyway...).

Beyond the fact that this plot point itself is disgusting, there's also the fact that said heroine, who has previously been portrayed as hyper-competent, is totally helpless in the face of rape-elf-doctor

I just had a dream where Allen released a "supercuts" topic where he revealed the Top 15 (by amount of nominations) that missed the field.

Pokemon Sword was #1. Tales of got absolutely devastated by LFF and made up like 5 entires on the top 15. Xillia 2 somehow was the highest of the group which also included Xillia 1, Vesperia, and Symphonia.

As the above indicates the now awake me can easily determine that some of these games should not be eligible for this contest although I have been trying to figure out if you could justify them with remasters like Symphonia HD and Vesperia Definitive Edition. OTOH, MGS2 was also on this list so yeah.

Yeah, from my understanding, Zodiac Age is the superior version by a wide margin, so I don't know why you wouldn't just go ahead and play it.

I'm probably harder on FFXII than it deserves. It has some good moments and some really good characters. The story just feels so aimless and disjointed most of the time, so it's hard for me to get invested in its resolution, especially since it has a villain I couldn't care less about and barely has any connection to the party.

Oh my god, yes.

I was debating throwing my pitch to you instead as something like, "Imagine if someone saw Death Note and decided to completely take the piss out of the absurd plans and gambits by instead using them in a romantic comedy. But then decided even that wasn't enough and just kept taking the piss out of them for comedic effect." but I was concerned that you'd (rightfully) see Death Note in any context and be like "nope no thanks"

Looking forward to seeing how your opinions on the characters evolve.

Mega Man 9 beated. Seriously, this game is so good! The level design, not just the platforming and combat, but the general aesthetics of each stage, is top notch. The weapons are all useful, and the game provides many instances for you to take advantage of them. I think the game has too many instant death spike traps, as I pointed out earlier, but it still generally feels satisfying to beat each stage. It's tough without being crushing. The music is also really good, and it has some fun boss fights. I think this might actually be my favorite Classic game now!

9 > 2 > 3 >= 4 > 7 > 6 > 1 > 8 > 5

Looking forward to trying out 10 next!

I'm more of a Mega Man X guy myself. I still think X1 is the best Mega Man game. It just depends on what you want out of a Mega Man game. It's not as elaborate as an MMX game because it doesn't have the upgrades and stuff, but it's well designed and the boss powers are really useful.

he has a slide, the shield, and a chargeable Buster, but at the cost of taking twice as much damage as Mega Man, bah
