I managed to get as far as leaving Cobblestone in DQ11, but with the new contest announcement, I was kind of distracted by all the activity here so I couldn't totally focus on it. Still, this is further than I got the first time I tried!

Apparently our hero is the reincarnation of the Luminary, a legendary hero of yore. I wonder if it's any relation to that ghost-like thing we saw in the opening FMV. Also, I wonder if his special powers (like calling down the lightning on that monster) will be limited to cutscenes or if we'll ever get to use them in actual battles because that would be cool. Also, Gemma decided to stay behind because she's not ready to leave the village, I guess. Nobody ever bothered to tell Hero that he was adopted, I guess, or at least not the circumstances that brought him there. And I guess this "Chalky" they keep talking about is the old man who found the baby in the opening FMV, except now he's dead, which is unfortunate.

Yeah this happened to me about a year ago and it was miserable. Was at the wedding of one of my high school friends, but the other people from our high school friend group that he invited couldn't make it so I knew literally no one.

I'm glad I went because I consider that person a good friend, but it definitely was not the most fun night of my life.

Sent a ticket in case the underlying cause is affecting some other games and also because like hell I'm not using my last nom on my personal favorite game of all time. I think I'm gonna start my second playthrough soon finally. I had intended to do Azure Moon next because apparently Golden Deer answers a lot of the questions so I was going to slot it last and Silver Snow would have me repeating the Black Eagles Part 1 for the most part... but apparently Silver Snow and Golden Deer are very similar so I don't know if I'd want them back-to-back for 3rd/4th.

I've mostly talked myself into Silver Snow at this point but if there's a compelling argument otherwise or I'm wrong I'd appreciate hearing so!

The most common opinion I've heard from people who've played all four routes is that playing all four routes is a bad idea, and they probably would've enjoyed playing the game more if they'd skipped Silver Snow because of how minimal its new content is.
