Based on these results so far, I think we have to run a 3-way or 1v1 poll tomorrow to eliminate LFF as a possible factor in determining this year's GotY winner. The presence of Link's Awakening is not good for Fire Emblem and I'd rather see a result that is legitimate as possible (meaning no LFF or SFF).

Kingdom hearts 3 is a solid #3 in this poll Im guessing behind FE and RE2.

Sekiro is my GOTY and I voted for it but Im shocked its doing so well considering how many people could not come close to beating that game.

also if RE2 wins will it be the first non RPG/Nintendo game to win GOTY?

RE4 was a former GotY winner, so that's not true at all. We also had San Andreas as a former winner too.

last year it was fine because god of war was unknown and people didnt know how it would perform against red dead 2

id be interested to see how red dead would do if it came out this year. Would probably be a close 2nd or 3rd. God of war is take over any of these games easily though.

LA is currently in fourth place right now, so it would miss the cut-off to get into a 3-way poll. Though it's still close enough that it could move up to third place at some point before the poll ends.

RE2 vs. Sekiro:

PS4 poll - 56.96%
Xbox One poll - 57.93%
PC poll - 62.08%
Overall GotY poll - 65.92%

Sekiro is getting blown up by RE2 to a much greater degree in the overall GotY poll than it did in PS4 or Xbox One poll, though the PC poll result is closer to what it's doing today than the first 2 results.

As for Fire Emblem, it had an impressive 62.38% on Link's Awakening in the Switch poll, but is only putting up 57.95% on it in the overall GotY poll.

Fire Emblem is going to overlap way more Dragon Quest than Zelda does, so it's not surprising that it's doing worse than the Switch poll. I'm just hoping it doesn't lose end up losing ground to Dragon Quest, because FE is also going to overlap with Zelda more than Dragon Quest does. Being Fire Emblem in a multi-option poll is suffering.

The one result that doesn't make sense is Link's Awakening more than doubling Dragon Quest in the Remakes/Remasters poll, but is now losing to Dragon Quest in the overall GotY. LFF/SFF can't fully explain the dramatic strength shift between the 2 polls. Even if it's being hurt by LFF or SFF, it shouldn't cause it to go from more than doubling Dragon Quest to losing to it.

I disagree. FE has way more love on this site than DQ. DQ hasnt looked this good ever. FE awakening did very well the year it was released.

and lets be real. Part of FE not being a juggernaut is because its a grid based SRPG. If this series was a staple action or turn based RPG it would be Dominating just about most things out there that arent Zelda or Final fantasy.

which makes me wonder how popular golden sun would be if they made more games.

remember golden sun beating GTA Sam Andreas?

yeah thats the power of a Nintendo RPG right there.

Eh, I think the only time it looked bad was against MGS3. Starcraft is no slouch, even if it doesn't have rally power behind it. The MGS3 performance only looks weird because BioShock did so well the round before, but BioShock looked good in GOTD, too.

nah Melee fans are the worst and literally rallied in a completely pointless match against G/S/C where it was already winning comfortably

The real irrelevant Smash game is 4. Brawl at least has Subspace Emissary and nostalgia. Smash 4 was on the Wii U and has been completely supplanted by Ultimate in every way.
