Youtube comments love it. But I had to rewatch it like 5 times to see if maybe I was missing something. But nope. Wasnt funny.

A comedian that says, I wanna make a joke, and be funny and then goes from there is funny. A person that says, I wanna make a statement and I also want it to be funny just falls flat to me. Idk.

Did anyone here actually laugh at anything he said? And if so, what part?

That's not really true though. Although they miss public school in most cases. It has been found that most child actors do better educationally due to them having private tutors. Like all the kids in Boy meets world shared the same tutor and their test scores were well above average

Well, beyond that I dont find anything about Greta to be humorous. Like... it was like... he just didnt have time to come up with jokes and decided, What if I just make a statement. Maybe controversial in nature. Everybody will be so busy with what I said, nobody will notice I didnt actually do my homework.

A fact that he didn't start to realize himself until the end when the tv special aired and he was forced to confront his own ugliness, ultimately prompting him to change as a person. By contrast, most of the other characters don't have much evolution. I think Tim is the only other one who shows much change by the end.

(Also I'm still amused that "Tim" was switched for "Jim" in the US version, considering that it's such a minute change especially since Tim is pretty common in the US.)

I think its just that the English dude that isnt PC and spews a bunch of shit about religion and politics has been overplayed.

Maybe if they brought Christopher Hitchens back to life and had him host the damn thing. He also wouldnt be funny but it would at least be a million times more entertaining, and wed actually would learn something too.

Yes, Hitchens was more intellectual and informative than Gervais, but Hitchens also wasnt a comedian. Thats the part you seem to be confused about. Maybe you have a problem with perception, nuance, and differentiating between two different things? I would look into that one if I were you. That could become a problem for you later in life. Also, Gervais has done plenty of hilarious work over his career other than this one speech, whether you found it funny or not.

Also, so I take it you prefer your comedians/commentators to be politically correct, so as not to offend you? Thats what Im taking away from this. Imagine being someone who actually demands their comedians and hosts be PC. What a sad life that must be.

Yeah, sure we have. People say the things Gervais said in his monologue practically every day on TV! Sure. Youre only saying that weve seen it too many times, as a way of discrediting it because it was offensive to you. Admit it, SJW. If he went up on stage and said a bunch of PC, progressive shit about saving the bears, preserving the environment, promoting gay marriage, and complaining about heterosexual white men, then you probably wouldnt complain that weve seen his shtick too many times before. I didn't watch that awards show but he's probably my favorite comedian right now. All of his stand up specials are great, and his Netflix series After Life was pretty good. I'm a bit curious what he said that triggered the TC so badly.
