I wanna chance at the 4D chess of gaming

...

Don't say SpaceChem, I got through the entire first few planets/chapters without knowing you can move nodes, so my solutions were crazy inefficient.

That I've personally done?

Final Fantasy Tactics 1.3 (Would love to try this again if FFT ever got a PC release...)
Final Fantasy X challenge runs (Although Pokemon Challenge runs would probably be harder, I was thinking about how viable it would be to so a SwSh Least Amount of Fights Game).
Final Fantasy IX Excalibur 2 Perfect Game
Final Fantasy FFVIII Rebalance Mod (I had to quit, couldn't do Missile Base - wonder how this mod ever progressed)
My Solo Rogue Divinity: Original Sin 2 run

Slow is really hard. Not a lot of turn based games anymore. I'd be interested if you find anything Lok.

I miss challenge runs (and the GameFAQs challenge run community). These days I just watch Pokemon challenge runs on Youtube.

Same, that's one of the reasons I love the Super Mario Maker 2 No-Ship Super Expert compilations.

Human Resource Machine, maybe? You basically have to write programs to make an office worker perform various tasks.

There's a sequel that I haven't played yet called 7 Billion Humans, which is basically the same thing, but scaled up to do parallel computing with multiple office workers.

I dunno if anyone would agree, but I think I would say Kerbal Space Program. Maybe I suck at it, but without looking up tutorials or walkthroughs, it's probably the single most challenging game I've ever played. can't even access 75-90% of the game (in career mode) since I don't have the ability or knowledge to.

Probably Thief. Playing it for the first time when it was new was something of a marvel. It's been borrowed from extensively over the decades, but still holds up well.

Granted, I like to take my time in games like these, but most levels took me 3-ish hours.

My final time for the last mission in the game was 6 hours lol

Any of the Deception/Kagero/Trapt series of games would be a good example.
I really loved Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess.
Especially if you're trying to fulfill the special requests it can require a lot of planning and thought towards the end.
"Slow" I guess is relative. Game itself moves at a regular speed, but when you're selecting your Rube Goldberg series of traps, it's paused and you can easily spend a very long time agonizing over what to do.

Was just using slow as a synonym -

For example, I find Xcom to be unbearably slow with its weird animations - and the pre-battle loadins in Final Fantasy 9 are hella slow annoying

But games like Frozen Synapse or FF11 where you can take entire minutes on actions are more methodical.
