Just wanted to sample what I was in for with this game. It seems pretty good but Mario seems slower than I remember him in the previous games and he doesn't jump as high or as fast as he did. It's especially noticeable with the side jump.

Also lol the classic controller pro has motion controls. The instructions actually told me to shake this big controller. Yeah like that's not gonna be rife with accidents haha.

Better to play with the joy cons or the classic controller pro?

It's an excellent game, but once you've been playing for a certain amount of time, it gets more and more boring. It just goes on, and on, and on, and on. There are roughly 900 Power Moons to collect, as opposed to 120 Stars in 64, 120 Shines in Sunshine, etc,.

One of the most ridiculously long games I've ever played.

Also Marios movement is the freest its ever been, to the point that it opens enormous potential for player creativity snd emergent gameplay/unintended pathing and solutions

The controls feel really intuitive after just a short time. Its easy to do something like triple jump, hat throw, dive, hat jump, wall jump, and dive. Seems almost complicated but its so easy.

Yeah I doubt I'll be bored. It seems like it's closer to super mario galaxy 1 and 2's play style and I loved those games so much.

I've put about 20 hours in over the past week and a half. I like it, but it's at its best with the introduction to each kingdom; I wish the rest of the game had that same focus to it.

I used the Switch in mobile mode usually, but I had to detach to use Joycon mode with some of the objectives since the shaking motion controls make it way easier to do some actions.
