I've always been a strong physical person for three reasons.

1) You get games cheaper.
2) You can sell games after for more money and buy them back for just a few bucks years later.
3) I like physical media.

But I realize I get about 50 games in a generation (and about 15 for whatever nintendo's console is). PSX, PS2, PS3, PS4. It's really adding up. I don't want to have to store and lug around hundreds of video game for my entire life. I've gotten to a point where if sony decides to completely shut off their service, I'd be fine with my games being lost because I am viewing them more as a consumable whose whose quality is partially based on the time it was made (because games expand upon other games and copy popular mechanics and refine genres). Though I do love going back and playing old SNES games, I see how modern games have added upon the formula.

I've noticed my time has also been going to more collecting. For all media it takes up time to research, organize, arrange, and acquire and that more time gets put into collecting than actually using what I bought these days. I'd rather go deeper into less, and I feel digital can help me with that. I actually bought a digital photo frame and am displaying my favorite scenes from games and game covers since I boxed up my physical collection as I 'adjust' to not having physical media around.

I do feel emotional getting rid of physical media, but buying physical doesn't seem like it'll be a sustainable practice for me unless I pay for more space to store things I no longer use. Some things I go back to, but that's easily repurchase-able.

Generally, yeah. At the very least, it's a lot easier to find cheap digital games than similarly-cheap physical games (open a couple online storefronts once a day vs. visit several stores and sift through their bargain bins and hope you get there at the same time as something good). The ability to resell physical games negates some of that cost difference, but that's only if you make a habit of reselling your games (which I've never been a fan of).

Not only is this topic title wrong but this is just another physical vs digital topic. Buy your games however you want it really doesn't matter to me. I buy only physical for many reasons. If physical stopped been a thing I'd probably just stick to playing old games.

I would have legit photos but I won't lie some game covers artwork is neat. I can see the appeal.
