I just can't play team-based games solo. I wish I could find a team based game I could actually play with others. Back to CSGO for now tho, as I haven't found a suitable replacement yet.

Pretty sure in Dota 2 they pair you equal to the strength of your team as far as wins/losses go so while you would have better coordination you would be facing teams with better teamwork/coordination.

Decided not to play CSGO either. Played 2 round and uninstalled.

Doesn't work like that at all. Everything in Dota is MMR based, and even then it's impossible to play a team-based game which heavily relies on teamwork with random people. Who may or may not want to play the game the same way as you.

Take a recent example, I play an aggressive treant protector, which I managed to have minor success with. My playstyle heavily relies on big team fights with my ultimate (an AOE Root). This requires me to initiate and my teammates to follow up. I played several matches where I would initiate, and despite my teammates being there, not following up. On the other end, they were also very agressively chasing when Treant is the slowest hero in the game.

I played another game with Clinks, which is a crazy good mid-game ganker. I managed to go 21/5/X mid game, completely shutting down their mid's farm. We lost the game because our carries were a Riki and someone else (I can't remember, not important). The Riki never particiapated in a single end game team fight.

I'll also consistently run into matches where we fail to draft a single initiation her (if I don't pick Treant), or zero stunners. I can't play unranked because of this. I will always get teammates who think that 5 cores will win us a game and it's just an hour long slog that ends in our loss.

I just want a game to play, why is this so hard?

I use my mic and shotcall a lot if I am a core. If I am a support, I talk less but usually only to the other support and whatever core I'm going to to help.

top down moba are crap.

paragon (pre-monolith) was great.
smite is alright, aside from weak ass towers.... they fucked up assault too much to play it... and joust shouldn't have the tower disable, but still fun.

Play Heroes of the Storm. Games are only about 15-20 minutes so you don't feel as bad if you spend time in a loss. There's no items and EXP is shared between everyone so it's pretty casual. Scratches the DOTA itch without feeling like you're spending 2 hours on one game sometimes.
