Work out to strengthen your muscles so it doesn't happen again. What is the muscle on the coccyx? Is it the gluteus medeus? Mead posted... bring a cushion with you to sit on Quoting a second time, since using a regular pillow... .... this weirdly, something weird. Ok, I'm short so my feet don't reach the floor in my chair, but I added the pillow, and now my feet reach the floor. How? --- "Salt cures Everything!" The coccyx doesn't do much, but strengthening the muscles around it would likely reduce pain / discomfort in the area. Learn to squat / deadlift for starters.

Ya, I do tons of squats - my glutes are amazo, but the coccyx isn't attached to the glutes AFAIK - so IDK what nerve it's squeezin' on --- "Salt cures Everything!" try to sit with your weight on your thighs and/or ass cheeks. don't slouch, or if you do sit sideways so your weight isn't directly on your asscrack.
use a softer seat (sit on a pillow or blanket) if it starts to get a little sore, don't ignore it. if it gets bad enough it can hurt an insane amount. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah, a cushion is probably the best way to go. I know they sometimes sell memory foam car seat cushions at Costco, that'll do the job.

this weirdly, something weird. Ok, I'm short so my feet don't reach the floor in my chair, but I added the pillow, and now my feet reach the floor. It adjusted the angle at which you're sitting in the chair so you're leaning forward more, so now your feet touch the ground. This tells me your seat probably has you leaning back quite a bit, which may be what stressed your tailbone in the first place. You should try to adjust your seat (height, pan depth, pan angle) so it presses evenly along your entire thigh and butt. If you're too short to see your monitor while also having your feet on the ground (which you'll need to even out the pressure like that), you might want to consider getting something to rest your feet on. ...
