I go to the movies alone more than I do with other people. I get there when I want to, buy whatever snacks and drinks I want, and leave whenever I want to.

Same, one and only time I've been to the movies by myself and the last time I was actually in a theater.

It was great, I went to a midnight showing a few weeks after it came out and I was the only one in the theater. Made crying when they flew the Falcon a lot less awkward.

I really don't get the stigma...you're in a dark place where you should be quiet. Sounds almost like a library.
I used to go quite often, but since I live with my girlfriend, the only time I go to the movies is gonna be with her.

I definitely go to theatres more often on my own these days, but I still don't see films particularly often.

Saw maybe 10 films this year, with most of them on my own. Will be seeing Star Wars, but I am going with friends for that one.

There's generally stigma about doing literally anything in public on your own. Going to movies, going to a restaurant, traveling, etc etc.

Society as a whole has a hard time grasping that sometimes people don't want to deal with other people, but they also don't want to stay at home with the blinds closed and the lights off. It's a shame really.

Never. As a male there's just some things you don't do alone at risk of being creepy. So you shut in at home and become that creepy guy who never comes out.

Very rarely.

I don't have an issue with seeing movies alone, but I barely care enough to see movies in the theater for any reason regardless. So one of the few things that actually motivates me to go out is when someone else wants to go and ask me to go with them. Occasionally my GF wants to see stuff, or some friends will say "Hey, do you want to go see X?" and it'll turn into a social occasion sort of deal, and I used to take my young nephew to see the Marvel movies when they came out because it was the only way he'd see them (but he's old enough to go on his own now).

But if no one else wants to go see something, I don't really have the motivation to go out. I don't care enough about movies to not be able to wait the extra few months before a movie comes out on DVD or TV to watch it for free at home.

If some movie came out that I was absolutely obsessed with, and no one else wanted to go see it, I'd go see it alone. But I can't remember being that excited for any single movie for more than a decade or two now.

I often go to the movies by myself. Not like I'm going to carry a conversation while the movie is on anyways.

Sometimes I go to movies with my friends if we're enthusiasts of the franchise, like Marvel or Star Wars. Probably going to see Episode IX with a friend of mine who jumped on the Episode VIII hate.

If I'm not going in a group, I'd usually rather watch movies on my TV. Don't mind going by myself if its a movie I'm really hyped for, but I think stuff looks better with oled.

Not very often, for example I went to see Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far from Home within a week of release but other than that I didn't have any need to see anything else so quickly.

And I'm sure as hell am not going to see the new shit show Star Wars.

I'm not a big theater-goer in general. Last movie I saw in theaters alone was Amazing Spidey (which I saw in theaters twice) and I would have seen Far From Home in theaters alone because I had this thing for a free ticket but the timing never worked out.
