considering how ridiculously cheap this was over the holidays and the 1:1 conversion before upgrading all the way i'm good for a while.
which just leaves me with a lot of choices. a small list of things i already downloaded (some played, most not):

there's plenty more than just those (Rise of the Tomb Raider, Bloodstained, Shadow of War...) but it's a crazy list with that alone. some of which i wouldn't consider to play through in there too, the last three in that list in particular represent that. but here, why not. tempted to make Mutant Year Zero the next game i play. some of those are sequels to games i never played the previous entries (Dishonored, Crackdown) but at free, might just do anyway.

i do wish there was a better list of your games as the side icon thing is crap but i can't really complain for something that's a) in beta, and b) free with the dirt cheap subscription it is.

but i digress. what's everyone playing?

All of my Game Pass time has been spent on XB1, but I have downloaded the client and maybe a game or two from the PC version.

Looking at a list of PC Game Pass games, I highly recommend the following games:

• The Gardens Between
• The Talos Principle
• Battle Chef Brigade
• Forza Horizon 4
• Halo: Master Chief Collection (might not be a complete PC version right now?)
• Minit
• Ori and the Blind Forest (you already said you downloaded this though)
• Orwell: Keeping An Eye On You

Gardens, Talos, and Minit are super high recommends

What is the Talos principle about. I have seen it recommended a lot but it didn't look very interesting at a glance.

It is an excellent and thought-provoking first-person puzzle game made by the team behind Serious Sam. What I mean by thought-provoking is that the plot and setting are based on existentialism. If that isn't your cup of tea, you can tune that stuff out and focus on the awesome puzzles!

this is one i was meaning to play for a long time now but never got around to it. finally started it up yesterday and goddamn, what a visual and musical treat. was hooked within the first 5 minutes and i'm probably beating this one today.

and i'll check those three games out. puzzles don't tend to be my thing but Minit looks adorable and a good plot can always make up the difference.

I actually just wrapped that one up within the past week or so. Obviously the puzzle mechanics are wholly unique to each game, but I can see some similarities between the two. The Talos Principle is a more challenging game, has a difficulty curve, and it is mostly open-world. Also, the puzzle areas in Turing tend to be larger and have multiple rooms while Talos is typically one giant, open area with various walls and obstacles impeding your progress.

It is worth the amount it costs tbh. It's literally cheaper than Sega channel a full 20+ some years later.

That said, Microsoft rewards is a good way to keep it free if you put the effort into it.
