Story is pretty meh compared to the first but the gameplay is much better. Also the Minervas Den Dlc is some of the best of what Bioshock series has to offer.

It has the best combat out of the three so if you're more into the gameplay than story yeah go for it. Nowhere near comparable to DMC 2 on a quality level.

Yes. The story isn't even that far below the first. The gameplay is much better. BS1 has the story to it's credit, but I think I prefer BS2 as an overall package.

BioShock 1 and 2 are the good ones, they are must play games.

The crap game to not play or waste time on is BioShock Infinite, that is the game many hate for the lack luster gameplay, stupid story, and because it tries to be like the first game but fails in everyway.

It's actually closer to dmc 4. Great gameplay, even if the story is a bit eh. Except minerva's den, which is surprisingly kinda good.

And boy does it have great gameplay. It's probably the perfect video game sequel in that regard, improving entirely on gameplay mechanics and quality of life changes.

Yes, as an overall package (with Minerva's Den) I'd say it's on par with 1. It stomps on Infinite.

I personally think it's a lot more fun. I don't really think the story of any of the Bioshock games is all that great tbh, so it wasn't much of a down grade for me. I think the atmosphere in the first game was more convincing, though.

That's actually something that did annoy me about 2. It just seemed like unnecessary busy work, although I guess it makes some sense from a lore perspective to an extent.

I actually had a lot of fun with the protection mechanic and setting up a bunch of traps using weapons and items Id never use otherwise. There was one time I set up so many traps I didnt even have to shoot a single bullet.

2 only gets a bad rap from having to follow 1.

Mechanics wise it's way better.

Also Minerva's Den is REQUIRED.
