I did it with all of them alone and with a friend. With a friend it's not so bad if youre patience and abuse the check point respawn.

Alone halo 2 with those bugs was a nightmare.

I played a lot of Halo 1 in high school

But I made it this far without actually playing the campaign

I now have an Xbox One X and all 5 games+ Reach+ ODST via the MCC

Halo 2 is actually the only one where I had to run through a section because I couldn't beat it. In Halo I almost always try to kill every enemy in a mission. Surprisingly it was Quarantine Zone that had a section I just couldn't do that. Fortunately I had a Ghost so I did have the luxury of bypassing any fight I couldn't win.

Halo 2 is also the odd game in the bunch where co-op is actually more difficult than playing solo. It was for me at least. Iron Skull is on by default in Halo 2 Legendary co-op. So even if you do everything right, if your partner screws up, you're reloading the checkpoint just like you would if playing alone.

Not sure why this notion eludes you. The natural highs you get from overcoming a daunting task is much greater than that of getting instant gratification.

yeah, that room where you first find the Guass Warthog has infinitely spawning snipers, with 3-4 already in place. You literally cant fight in this section because the next room has Wraith/Ghosts and 2 snipers, and a opening for you to get shot by the 1st rooms snipers

Halo 2 legendary, man. That was a proper challenge. All the others seem piss easy by comparison, not counting S/LASO runs.

I think my trick for that was to try and kill the pre-loaded snipers asap, ignore the guass hog's first pass, kill more snipers, jump down on the guass hog's second pass, order Stacker to bail, enter the driver seat, honk my horn to get Stacker on the gun, then get the hell out of that first room... unless Chief or Stacker gets sniped at any point during all of that, then LOL, reload checkpoint.

On paper Halo 1 seems easy I think. Hunters are a joke, grenades are incredibly powerful, and the best weapon in the game (the plasma pistol) drops frequently from enemies. But Halo 1 is actually pretty damn difficult on Legendary. Second only to Halo 2 in my opinion. The enemy AI is really good. And then later on you encounter the other famous bullshit enemy of the franchise, the Rocket Flood.

Excluding Jackals from Halo 2, IMO Reach is the hardest on Legendary.

But counting the Jackals then Halo 2 wins. I usually just skip them by climbing the rooftops in Outskirts. Every other jackal sniper part of the game is more open so it's a little easier to take them out compared to that first fucking dark alleyway

I assumed ODST would have been the hardest since you're not a super soldier but it wasn't bad at all

As far as Outskirts Jackal Snipers go, they're a pain in the ass, but they can be defeated.

The first courtyard with Johnson is basically a warm up. He is invincible and has a sniper of his own, so let him try to kill a few snipers, or at least point them out to you.

Before Johnson leaves via Pelican, take his Sniper Rifle from him and give it to one of your marines. Arm a 2nd marine with the sniper stashed in that alcove. Arm a 3rd marine with a beam rifle, but only do so if there's still a beam rifle left for you.

The first Alley has 6 snipers, one of which you can get the drop on immediately with your BR. From there, it's a bit of luck, but your marines will help to draw fire away from you... as dumb as it sounds, it takes 2 beam rifle shots to kill them, but only 1 to kill you. Their health can recharge, much like your shields. They sure as hell won't win the battle for you, but they can give you some breathing room.

The alley after that has about 5 jackal snipers, but it is spaced out a bit and you get semi frequent checkpoints. Try to kill the first 3 ASAP, then kill the last two before a checkpoint.

Just watched some people go through the sniper alley in 2. Went as well as expected.

I wonder how many people lost their minds on Launch day dying on that level
