It seems that newer vehicles have brighter lights. I thought maybe everyone had their high beams on or my eyes are becoming sensitive, but I've read that newer vehicles are using a different type of bulb that makes it bright white and that's going to cause me to not be able to drive at night, especially when it gets dark earlier at this time. If I happen to get dazzled or something that causes me to wreck into a car or some other object, I clearly would not have to be at fault, but it would be hard to prove and would be told to not drive at night anymore or pay a fine. I feel like this is only going to get worse in the future. Does anyone else have this problem and what can I do about it? Get new eyes lol?

Get some sunglasses for night time driving.

"What are you playing? Australian rules?" "Yeah. I'm trying to put you down under. 6 feet down under!"

Is it possible that you simply have night blindness? If you dont currently wear glasses you may be able to correct your vision with a pair of glasses even if you wind up only wearing them at night.

some cars' night-time headlights are basically full highbeams with a shade over it to keep them around waist level, and activating "highbeams" just pulls back the shade. problem is if they go over a bump or you are otherwise below the oncoming car, you just basically get full-on highbeams.

though I think they still may not be quite as bright as whatever regular highbeams are. regular older-style highbeams aren't just a little bright, you can feel them burning into your retina when you aren't even looking at them.
