The first Mario Party game on the N64 included a mechanic that had the player spin the analog stick around very fast. The fastest way kid me learned was to apply the palm of my hand to the analog stick and spin it that way, versus the slower thumb approach. The skin on my palm turned white and started to peel -- A symptom every kid that did this repeatedly experienced.

This is why in future Nintendo Mario Party games, this mechanic was ditched and it became "Click A + B".

pretty sure we did that, but not to the extent that we blistered our hand. our hands did get pretty sore though from playing the mini games.

most of my "injuries" are from fighting games, and having to do repeated flame dances and aura bolts, which blisters my thumb after a while.

I did not injure myself playing DDR though, or Beat Saber or many other games like that.

Pretty sure the only Mario Party game I played was at a friend's house on the Wii.

I did that on a lot of games. WCW Thunder, Tekken, etc.
