Aside from goalies who plaed maybe 5-10 games, he's at like 20th or so in save percentage, and that factors in both he and Dubnyk going on those crazy ass losing streaks early and mid season. Stalock went from something like 3.10 to 2.70, so he is playing "better". Dubnyk is at 3.30 is at $4m price tag, ouch. I was just thinking about this recently (beyond the Samsonov/Holtby dynamic) when commentators were mulling about the Avalanche possibly looking for a goalie if Grubauer's injury looks longer-term. Then Francouz goes out and lets in 2 goals in 3 games, and was a little over 2 minutes away from only 1 goal in 3 games. And those 3 games were in 4 days! Not like the 3 teams were world beaters or anything, but still. And now they extended him for 2 yrs/4 million which again, is pretty nice in the grand scheme of things, certainly nicer than 10 mill per. Which also brings us back to Columbus getting quality goaltending from Latvian no-names this year. With Koivu and Granlund gone, it would have been nice to see what Haula could do as a #2 center. I don't think he or Nino are top line guys in the Canes system right now, but Haula and Tuch being Vegas fodder still stings.
