It should be noted to pull off 4k at 144 it is reducing chroma. So tech is not quite there yet but almost. It is sampling 4:2:2 (half the luminance is being lost horizontally for color data)

It's a 24" 144hz IPS 1080p with Freesync. The clincher is that it's advertised 1ms response time cannot be activated at the same time as freesync and goes to 5ms.

Ah, thanks for the extra info. I'm not sure I have the GPU power to take advantage of the full refresh rate anyway, so I will certainly wait for them to perfect things.

I am referencing how old people all seem to think just 4K matters when reality it is all about how many nits of brightness the HDR is getting that makes it look good.

Or in our above example where someone made fun of topic creator for getting a amazing gaming monitor where refresh rate and response time mean everything, and suggested a resolution upgrade would of been more useful when it would do jack shit for gaming minus a very small improvement to graphics when close to monitor (and really horrible UI in most games).

Does not matter if it was a accident or not.

You got pretty much the BEST POSSIBLE type of monitor you could buy for gaming.

Just ignore them, their advice is silly and based on advertising not real world application.

If you play these people in online competitive matchs. You will literally have a advantage over them. Your performance and reaction times will over all be better than if you had the same set up as them.

Oh and in case they chime in, what you are looking at will also look way better than what they see. In fact what they see would make them want to vomit and get simulation sickness after watching your monitor.

Before I get Rika's reply Vimeo/Youtube support lots of 8K content. Though should be noted upscaled 4K content is quite stunning compared to plain 4K so is worth it there too.

I have a curved monitor but without the curve, the monitor would be significantly less practical to use.
