8) Tokyo Babel (PC / Visual Novel)

Quite frankly this is Sunk Cost Fallacy the visual novel, you play as God for the entire game and you're just Super Awesome Dude Guy. I like these types of games generally but this way just too over the top for me, so that's kinda bad. I just felt obligated to finish it after 30 hours or so, I'd only recommend this to people who enjoyed Gundam Seed Destiny.

7) Uncharted Trilogy Remastered (only 1 and 2)

Nathan "Doughnut" Drake is my favorite main character in a while. 2 was much better than 1, but I liked them both. I liked the exploration alot more than the combat, which...probably was more fun in what 2009 or something. The intro to Uncharted 2 is the most memorable scene for me in the series. I got distracted in the middle of 3, but it was alright. Worse than 2.

6) Yazuka 0 (PS4)

Honestly maybe it's just me but I liked the plot more than the side games and stuff. The world was great, nicely fleshed out, great sidequests, but god the combat...I didn't think was fun. Best part of the game was fighting against insurmountable odds (so basically the entire game) for Kiryu. Majima is a great singer. I dunno, I actually typically don't get into open world games, so finishing it is a good job for me.

5) Fire Emblem Three Houses (NIntendo Switch)

At this point I think all of these games are amazing so whatever anyway. Great return to form of the series after Fates was pretty mediocre! I only finished Church route, (I don't have that much time to play video games), but wow the Black Eagles were great. I played on Hard Classic. By the end of the game I was kinda burnt out so I ended up killing like 5 people in my roster on the final map but whatever. The giant monster mechanic imo wasn't fun, which is why I didn't reset my game when Bernie and the rest of my favorites got destroyed by the final boss. Down the line I'll see the other paths on different difficulties (maybe the new difficulty on casual; I started Blue Lions and then the patch dropped so who knows) but it's not a priority.

4) Metal Gear Rising Revengeance (PS3)

Honestly this game as definitive of the "best dumb story" (as in, over the top and silly but badass, etc) you can get, with super fun combat. My only gripe was my lack of dexterity, as I had difficulty aiming the Blade Mode cutting mode. Which made the final boss a huge problem since if you don't do the QTE in time you're one shot. On this list, I think this has the best actual soundtrack. But I dunno, I'm not some music critic. I really wish the game was a bit longer and i really wish the game actually told you how to play. I went a few missions without knowing how the fuck to parry, so I ran around like a dumb cyborg ninja. Once you get the game down, it feels incredibly satisfying to kill people. Also Ripper Mode didn't seem to be very useful at all either but maybe I'm just a normie.

3) Devil May Cry V (PS4/XB1)

Basically probably the best action game of all time. Dante is back and better than ever, with a retconned storyline that can bring back veterans and newcomers easily by simply pretending DMC2 doesn't exist. Perfect. It took direction from Bayonetta with the introduction to all of the new demons which was a great modernization of the game. Gives the enemies a bit more character, instead of all those dumb scissor dudes and reaper dudes in past games. Dante is as cool as ever and dances. Nero was an incredibly pleasant surprise, being actually my favorite to play as. V is whatever. Almost perfect game, bring back you know who for DLC and we can have the best game released in 2019 released into 2020 as well. Sublime.

2.428) 428: Shibuya Scramble (PS4)

alright so i guess i missed this one, since i bought it last year and probably finished it this year. it was very good, an incredibly non conventional visual novel that was all captured with real people. the branching routes were fun, but sometimes it was really obtuse with how to proceed in the game. big love for this game, it'd be right around here if i didn't forget it. there's so much to do in this game its actually crazy for a linear visual novel, so props to the dev team
