Socialism is just as bad, if not worse, then Capitalism.

No one cares Duncan, not only about the majority of what you post, but also about the fact that I never mentioned socialism and you still felt the need to write some irrelevant bullshit about it.

ftfy. Lots of people just wait around for handouts to get richer instead of making it possible themselves do not get richer.

Oh look, another champagne socialist white male Hollywood actor worth millions that lives in a nice high class gated community going about how capitalism is bad and rich people are the devil lol. These people do not share the every day Americans struggle.

As opposed to all the white male million/billionaires who see the every day American struggle and say oh well fuck them, Im rich?

I mean, what are you really saying here? That someone whos seen the upsides of capitalism cant criticize it? Are there really people out there stupid enough to think the only ones allowed to criticize it are the same ones whove only ever been victims to it?

Up their own ass white liberal Hollywood actors that cant properly define what capitalism even is and have never read a single economics book in their goddamn life are in zero jurisdiction to go on about how it is bad lol.

Capitalism is the private ownership of goods and services and the voluntary exchange of those said private goods and services. It has lifted billions of people out of the natural state of poverty every human is born into out of the womb. It is natures way of determining who is smart and who is broke.

Lmao. Thanks for the good laugh.

This idea that if you benefited from capitalism you somehow can't criticize it (even though others have been harmed by it and some people have this thing called empathy for others) is profoundly and explicitly ridiculous and should be discarded quickly by everyone who parrots it.

It is not about if you benefited before, it is about if you are currently exploiting it which he is.

If he donated most of his wealth and decided to work for minimum wage on films, then no one would question him.

Instead he is promoting a new film he is getting millions more from with his very statement you just defended.
He exploited you that is.

None of Bernies policies will help lift a single person out of poverty lol. His advocation for hiked up corporate tax rates, red tape, what he deems a mandated federal min living wage, and anti-free trade Trumpian protectionism are the inverse of the Denmark Breadline Bernouts claim that we should be more like. And people swear Bernies policies arent in line with South American socialism and that he is different, jfc.

To be fair, there's a ton of people who go on about socialism's evils and can't define what socialism is. Ignorance of the other side isn't unique to a certain ideology.

California's liberal elite consistently vote for policies that make matters worse. It costs like $400 in annual registration fees for a car. It's like $3,000 a month to rent a crappy 2 bedroom condo. Gas is at $3.80 a gallon. These things make life very difficult for regular people and yet they keep voting against policies that might actually help people.

China is the way it is because a fascist dickhead named Mao Zedong kept the country poor and destroyed centuries worth of buildings, manuscripts and artifacts because he wanted a strong, militarized China, and the past eras of free thought, spirituality and scientific progress stood in the way of everything he stood for. He was a communist, but the socialism he claimed to preach was a load of horseshit that deliberately kept a majority of China in poverty and almost certainly gave rise to the proliferation of sweatshops in the country while he grew fat. This is in line with the USSR, where "everybody works for the same pay" turned into "everybody works to buy El Capitan a nice lobster dinner and a Mercedes Benz".

The socialism that people are interested in today is "the rich pay their taxes, paying higher rates depending on whatever obscene amount of money they made that year, to fund the public services that keep every working American literate, healthy and able to travel". This ensures that wealth actually trickles down - lower classes of people have access to a basic level of healthcare that lets them work harder jobs and improves their quality of life in the long run, kids are educated fairly instead of less fortunate kids going to a less-funded school and getting a subpar education, libraries are funded so they can offer a better catalogue of material and can expand their archival efforts which better serves everyone in the pursuit of knowledge, and cities are able to improve their infrastructure so that people who drive or take public transport have a smoother travelling experience and are able to be more efficient.

The method of doing this - charging higher tax brackets to people making millions and billions of dollars - and the intended outcome of this - improving infrastructure for everyone, which improves everyone's quality of life - is a far cry from "everyone gets a job digging holes in a field and gets paid the same flat rate that they can barely use to feed their families, whereas I, the Supreme Leader, regularly dine on expensive cuisine and have no shortage of personal assets to further my ambitions".

If you want to read about the state of China under Mao Zedong, I recommend reading Mao's Last Dancer - an autobiographical account of a man who was born into squalor, before being chosen to attend the Beijing Dance Academy and emigrating to Australia. The book goes into the history of Mao's rule, the basics of China's socialism and what that entailed in the end, a firsthand account as to the condition of the average poor Chinese citizens at the time, and the hypocritical class politics of Mao's China. It would serve as a better base of knowledge than "If Capitalism Is Bad, Why Am Red China Policy Good Replacement Accord 2 Rad Libs??" No sane person thinks Mao's China, or the Eastern Bloc, was a good idea. But capitalism as it stands now, where corporations can get away with paying no tax at all and paying people a wage that an average adult can't actually live on, is failing the most vulnerable members of our society. You don't have to wear a fur hat and send people to a fucking gulag for Opposing The People's Republic to have a look at the squalor people are being reduced to in America and say "things are pretty fucked up, people might have more of a chance if we level the playing field".

Ruffalo legit is a supporter of the ridiculous Green New Deal, but right, it doesnt mean Great Leap Forward multi-point bills that will add astronomical trillions in new spending that will result in budget shortfalls when the rich ultimately wont pay for this shit you chased them away with with the consequences that will ultimately fall at the expense of the very lower income people it was intended to help.
I wonder how exactly we are supposed to change anything, capitalist, communist or in between, when apparently affecting rich people in any way will just make them flee the country.

I guess rich people really are evil then if they'd tell millions to fuck off rather than be slightly less millionaire/billionaires

I mean conservatives are nothing if not reliable, you have to give them that.

That's kind of the problem. See, the issue with having these discussions is that you make one little peep about how modern (typically American) capitalism has gone off the rails, then like clockwork people come flooding in these topics with a list of talking points about breadlines and the Soviets, or other nonsense deflections

They think that if the false dichotomy between what we have now and 20th century communism didn't work last time, surely it will this time

Explain how any of the socialist policies the likes of Bernie and Warren call for will bring about this prosperity. Do so without the following emotional SJW trigger buzzwords:

1%
Wealthy
Rich
Income Gap
Income Inequality
Trickle Down
Loopholes
Fair
Bailout

Do all this while taking into consideration the present economy and federal government spending. And be sure to do math too.
Let's dig people out of poverty and save the planet before we start worrying about prosperity. I think the prosperous will find a way to survive without making increasing amounts of money for a little while.

Weird how we only worry about spending when the prospect of a left-leaning President comes up and ignore that spending and the debt increases year over year no matter who's in control. We could redirect where taxes goes and increase tax revenue many times over and still have rich people and be far away from praising Lenin and standing in bread lines.

Acting as if people need to be economists with laid out plans to criticize America or else they are communists that need to shit the fuck is stupid.

People have no idea what communism is like until they live in it. People starved...hundreds of millions of people starved. Only a small percentage of the population gets well-fed and they're the ones in power.

If you live under communism, you wouldn't be sitting where you are, posting on message boards, playing games and bingeing on TV shows. No, you'd be out there contributing, working and if you're lucky, you just may gave an extra food coupon for your hard work.
