what does winning the SB last year have to do with this year and the years to come?

Because it shows that you're a little bitch who is never going to be happy because you're always going to be looking for reasons why you might not win the next SB to whine and cry about.

I will not have expectations when Brady is gone though?

Oh, that changes everything. Let me rephrase.

These Granzon posts are why people hate Boston fans fyi.

I used to consider myself a Boston fan, but really I just supported their teams to troll people because I thought it was funny how much they hated them. But the whiny fans killed the fun, and I have no connection to the area so I just stopped caring about them

It was easy with NBA and MLB because I always preferred the Suns and Diamondbacks anyway. I never really liked the Cardinals though (and I have a mancrush on Tom Brady) so I'm still rooting for the Patriots. Unfortunately I think Pats fans might be the whiniest of the bunch.

This feels like a good time for me to give my personal view on sports championships. I've always considered a team having a right to a championship in any sport to be 1 year out of however many teams there are, so in the nfl it would be 1 out of every 32 years I consider a team to be "past due" given perfect parity.

The pats were founded in 1959, so 60 years ago. So if we're generous, we'll say the pats have a right to 2 superbowls.

They have 6. Which not only covers the 2 they're entitled to, but also 4 more sets of 32 years that they should not go with a championship (imo). In other words, the pats have won so much within the last 2 decades, that means that a whole generation of people and some others as well should go from birth to death without seeing their team hoist the trophy, because people like granzon got to experience 6.

Just be grateful for what you've had, and have some perspective. I get that you (granzon) feel like there could have been even more success, and you're probably right. But no matter how successful, no fan should "expect" his team to win the super bowl every single year, that's just not how sports are built. Your team's prior success doesn't give you some sort of moral highground to to expect a win all the time. It's just unreasonable. If what the pats have done isn't good enough for you, that's not the pats problem, it's yours.

he straight up bet against his own team in the 2nd half. That takes balls

I can only speak for myself, but I only find the bandwagoning, clueless moron Boston fans to be annoying which Granzon doesn't fall into. In other words, if you went to the NFL board, you could not find a Pats fan that Granzon isn't 10 billion times better than.

If everything holds I'll be entering the playoffs as the following in my 3 leagues

1 Seed 10-3 (10 man / Fun)
2 Seed 10-3 (16 man / $1000 prize)
3 Seed 7-6 (12 man / $1500 prize) - The 1 and 2 seeds will be 8-5, the other 4 playoff teams will 7-6.

I have the most points scored in all 3 so hopefully I win at least 1 of the money leagues.

I wish I could get my leagues to agree to a non standard format where teams were rewarded better for their total points

I don't know if roto is the same thing but one of my friends leagues does a league where you play one person and then you also play against the mean or the median, I forgot which, and both results count. So there's an inherent forgiveness factor if the schedule screws you over

Roto is essentially that you don't "play" anyone ever, your team just accrues points and you just go off of total points. It works better for daily stuff admittedly, but it is still the most fair format to exist if you're purely looking for the best team.

I've found roto leagues to be boring. If you want a league that isn't dead but still rewards the top team for having the highest PF, then just divvy the pot up to reward that person. Mine divvies up the scoring title side-pot for the weekly winner. The overall score winner tends to win money in the playoffs and they get 3-5 weeks (on average) so it's a good haul.

Yeah I will say that roto can lend itself to having many dropouts if they feel they fall too far behind, but personally that's not what I care about. I'm just about seeing who the best team is, and by the numbers, roto does that.

I hope for the Panthers' sake, Hurney is next. I'm not an expert on evaluating coaches or anything, but I felt like the Panthers' issues these past few seasons were a poor job from Hurney and critical injuries exposing the poor depth and talent on a team assembled by Hurney. I know the Panthers got a new owner since Rivera was hired and maybe he wants his own guy, but as Leonhart said, he should be in high demand in the off-season. I can see him in Jacksonville, Atlanta, or Dallas.
