This is what happens when you try to ride a ripple like it's a wave. You can't sell something that's not only niche, but only appeals to people with nostalgia for it. Especially when your numbers were already that low initially. Im happy for those 100 people who got what they wanted and were satisfied with the journey tho.

I just found out yesterday that Shenmue 3 isn't even the last game in the series. Almost 20 years waiting for a sequel and Suzuki doesn't even give fans an ending. He says he wants more sequels even though 3 barely got made..

This is almost Mighty No 9 levels of shady. At least fans like Shenmue 3 I guess.

seriously, fuck Suzuki. like was said, he should have given us the ending. this is total bullshit to wait 20 years and just get another cliffhanger.

yes, we all know it was originally supposed to be 16 games. but even with Shenmue 2 they already had reduced that. the first game was simply chapter 1. but 2 was chapters 2, 3 and 4. they should have done chapters 5-16 with shenmue 3. jsut make it a long game and finish the damn story

If you've played or watched someone play a Shenmue game you know damn well that shit could be cut down, but Suzuki doesn't seem to understand brevity. It would make sense to have all those sequels if they were coming out consistently every 2-4 years since 2.

Shenmue 3 doesn't even have gameplay improvements since 2. Someone said it's a dreamcast game with a fresh coat of paint and I couldn't really disagree.
