I AM planning to get every Gigantamax Pokemon so...I thought it might br just a matter of hours (considering how many times I saw GMax Orbeetle when I farmed Watts) but this is super discouraging

To be fair, my other two I've done were 4 months and 6 months. Must have just been terrible luck. But it soured me big time.

And I didn't zone out and miss the shadow. It was Lapras, who has a gigantic distinct shadow. And I wasn't at the wrong den either, but trust me that I checked a different source online every hour because I kept doubting that I was...

At this point I've fought gmax grimmsnarl, kingler, and Lapras of the nonfeatured gmax raids, by managing to join such raids online (w/o link code). Suffice it to say such raids fill up fast. Didn't catch them.

I spent probably 80 hours in the wild area and literally never naturally encountered a G-max that wasnt the promoted special or whatever theyre called. Im starting to believe they didnt want anyone to encounter them until they switched which ones are more commonly featured

Yeah this game feels more like a "game as a service" more than any other game...when talking about post-game stuff
They expect you to play the game every day for a long time...and wait for special events

It would be fine for a mobile game, but sorry, when a mainline Pokemon game comes out, I am 100% dediciated to it until I finish everything
Just knowing I won't be able to 100% it in the near future (thanks for missing 2 "Sweet" items, for example. And the unreleased Gmax Pokemon..) is disappointing

The fact that the GMaxes that havent been promoted raids were banned from the online tournament they had while the promoted ones were allowed confirms this. It's better to think of them essentially as unreleased Pokemon. They just have a minuscule chance of being encountered before they're official.

I honestly would have preferred it if Gmax Pokemon were just straight-up event giveaways, instead of this half-measure BS they went with. At least then, players wouldn't be essentially bamboozled into virtually uncatchable Gmax raids, like they are now.

It's easy for us to see a non-event Gmax raid online and say "not worth it," now that sites like Serebii have spilled the beans on the catch rates. But not everyone has that information, especially younger fans, so these bollocks Gmax raids are just going to frustrate people and potentially make them lose interest in the game.

I know I've had a lot to say about Gigantamax, but cripes, I haven't hated a game mechanic this much since tripping in Brawl.

I am talking about 18 Alcremie forms, 35 old Pokemon, 2 Mythical Pokemon (Probably), 2 event Gigantamax Pokemon and ?? amount of super-rare Gigantamax Pokemon that are available but super rare..

Finally got at least 9 of each Sweet item! it only took....109 days of skipping...
(I was lucky enough to get a extra Flower Sweet on the 110th day)

Yeah if they think it's somehow logical to wait more than 3 months to get every form of Alcremie...
They totally should have made some Sweet item more common depending on your game, so say if your trainer ID last digit is 0-1 then Strawberry is super common, if it's 2-3 then Love, 4-5 is Berry etc
It would promote trading and make it very possible

I'm just glad it only took like 3-4 days to get the Berry Sweet. That's a pretty shitty thing to leave up to RNG though, if you happen to have your heart set on using a particular Alcremie on your story team.

Alcremie, by far
Vivillon was just a matter of 3-4 hours hunting in the GTS

Oh and getting Vivillon with your own OT might be a bit crazy too as it would require you to have 3 different region editions of 3DS and reset your game at least 16 times so..yeah, if you mean Vivillon with your OT then it's more troublesome than Alcremie (with the exploit)

It just a few pixels that they could have given them a different color
No reason to actually focus on what it looks like...just a different color..

It is weird they went through the effort to make sprites for all flavors but couldn't be bothered to make the small change for the decorations.

Gigantamax Snorlax GET!

Managed to pull off a successful 5 star raid using only the AI supports. I ended up with a Lax nature and Gluttony ability on the Snorlax.

I went out of the box with my Pokemon choice for this raid by going with a Skill Link Cloyster equipped with Choice Band. The advantage of a 5 hit move is that when a shield is up, the first hit takes out 1 bar of the shield while the remaining 4 hits can chip away at Snorlax's health if the shield hasn't been taken down yet.

Cloyster's absurd physical defense also allows it to easily tank anything Snorlax could use against it, so that was another positive aspect in its favor for this specific raid.

Congrats!

Oddly enough I found Wobbuffet and Solrock as really good CPU partners against Snorlax. They happened to be good enough at not getting KO'd that I was able to win.

Curry Dex 96% complete, only missing Sword's exclusive and Gigantamix
The ingredient hunting and berry hunting was very simple and easy, even without the exploit. As long as you actually bothered to get berries and purchase ingredients every day since starting playing, you should have everything
At first I thought each curry needs 10 berries...which would be insane, but turns out you only need one berry for each curry so it's really not a problem

The problem is actually the process itself. It takes roughly 90 seconds per curry. It's super repetitive and at some point I just stopped doing anything and let it play itself, but it was still very time consuming and boring
It should take between 4-5 hours to complete the Curry Dex..but if you want to have all 3 sizes, you need to do it twice, which means around 9-10 hours
It's insane and I am glad that it's (almost) over

Don't know, never got Charizard rank. Got Copperajah twice or something and it was rhytimically

Charizard rank is guaranteed with gigantamix, I think.

Otherwise, cooking with other people makes it much easier to get.

I think I accidentally remove my ditto from the daycare along with the other pokemon literally over 50% of the time.

You can mash B when they ask if you want your second Pokemon back. So you only need to pay attention the first time they ask which Pokemon you want.

This post-game story, while also dumb, is still easily better than the actual main storyline imo.

It also makes me more annoyed that raid battles only pair you up with loser CPUs. You'd think when the gym leaders say "call on me anytime you need" it would actually mean you could call on them, but nooo. Also I was kinda shocked when I skipped Dynamaxing and Hop actually did it on the following turn.

boy they let you get into breeding really early in this one. I love it! I used some of my surprise trade beasts to breed some stuff I wouldn't have had. Someone sent over a Grimmsnarl that I can't use coz it's too high level, but I got a nice Impidimp now.

Gonna keep doing that with the Japanese Ditto I have.

Also, there's such a huge amount of Pokemon in this game that I'm starting to think Dexit didn't matter at all. Hopefully they add the rest in with patches as we go along though because I think it'll keep people coming back if they can after an update go and find Garchomp in the Wild Area.

i have 8 badges but i hate my team and have no desire to finish oh well it was worth the $30 i paid for the experience i am an indoctrinated pokemon whore ready to be used and abused in exactly the same way every 3 years. except i'm the one paying

The National Dex cut doesn't actually mean anything right now. Since Pokemon Home isn't out, there's no way to bring in non-Regional Dex Pokemon anyways. Even if Garchomp was programed into the game, it would be impossible to use at the moment.

But when making a living dex or just battling in the battle tower and you want to use your favorite/strongest Pokemon..yeah..it sucks

But I don't remember anymore and I don't feel like cleaning the dust off my 3DS to check

I mean, is having a HA of every Pokemon and Gmax of every Pokemon enough? maybe I need to have a copy of every Gmax Pokemon with every ability it has? (seeing as it can't breed..)

Beast Ball Eternatus GET!

I was able to use a currently running Japanese Mystery Gift code event to get a Beast Ball prior to the post-game.

It also took longer than I expected to get a Modest or Timid nature on Eternatus, but I ended up getting Timid on back to back attempts (the first one had poor IVs on the non-31 stats). I eventually settled on keeping one that had 19/31/21/31/31/31 IVs, as getting 5 IVs would already be a huge challenge without the ability to control the nature with Synchronize.
