I think I give up on the Flame Orb
Wasted the entire Saturday trying to get one, and nothing. People keep saying that inviting Leon helps the odds, but I have been inviting him since the beginning. I have only tried inviting others a few times and not invite anyone, and in the 5 times I choose to not invite anyone, I actually got the hands-waving animation twice and got myself a Toxic Orb and Iron Ball
It's totally random, imo

I am pretty sure that Gamefreak will realize that it's stupid to keep such an important item locked behind fucking RNG and will give it out as a serial code gift (like the Level Ball) or a increased drop chance from event raid
So it's not worth the time..for now

Oh, I was going to warn you about that but I forgot. Flame Orb is really rare. You would need to spend multiple days chasing it down if you really want one unless you get super lucky.

The Leon thing originates from one person who was tracking their rewards and noticed they seemed to get better items when they invited Leon. However, that's not really hard evidence. With that said, Leon is usually recommended anyways on the off chance it does help since it doesn't really matter who you fight if you are stomping opponents with Lv100s.

Should have checked the trade board. I see Zacians go for 2 Master Balls, or sometimes just a certain shiny. And you can trade Mints for extra Master Balls if you only had the 1.

OK look, when I bought Pokemon Sword I knew fully well that I am doing this just to get Zacian and a easier access to Gmax Flapple, Machamp and Coalossal
But I also knew I am getting as a "bonus" two different gym leaders...and I expected two different gym missions
But no, the Fighting Gym mission is the exact same as the Ghost one but with a different background color and textures
What the hell seriously

Hey I caught a shiny Perserker.

Are these things fairly common/more common in Sword/Shield? I've found two playing normally (not including any of the "event" shiny guys which I was too lazy to go get) and I'm not even to post game stuff yet.

Nah the shiny rate is the standard 1 in 4096 it's been for several gens.

There are a few things that can increase it even in the early game though. Chain catching/defeating the same Pokemon repeatedly offers an increase and even outside of chaining encountering the same Pokemon over and over slightly increases the rates. At 500 of a Pokemon defeated overall + a 25 chain (the max) the odds are around 1 in 585.cc

I believe it was discovered that active chaining has nothing to do with shiny odds in this game, instead it only increases the chances of finding a glowing Pokemon.

I just caught a shiny Dugtrio! My luck has been insane, apparently.

To offset this, I have spent an entire hour trying to get a damn Trapinch to spawn. I missed him my first time through the area since he's only a 1% chance. I wasn't even trying to battle other pokemon, the Dugtrio spwaned into me when I was running through a grass patch and he was shiny.

I have no clue! This is my third shiny in like a week and I'm not even looking for them (like I said I don't have a shiny Magikarp because I couldn't be bothered to go get it).

I wonder if there is something to what Murph said (again mnkboy said no so I have no clue). But the only pokemon I had been fighting here was Dugtrio. I'm trying to get Trapinch with absolutely terrible luck. I've been able to flee from any other pokemon I accidentally bump into, but I have to fight the Dugtrio's because some of them have Arena Trap. In an hour I've bumped into eight (I know because I OHKO them if trying and the move has 2/10 pp left) and the eighth one was shiny. It's probably just random chance, but also crazy lucky since I just caught a shiny Perrserker like a day ago.

Still no Trapinch though...

Just finished Sword. Right in time for the Wild Area events changes, as I need to get Sword exclusives with HA and now having both Coalossoal and Flapple with increased spawns is going to make it much easier
Then only Machamp remains

If only Pokemon HOME came out today it would have been perfect

I'm a little disappointed they didn't add Gmax Toxtricity or Melmetal but oh well. I would hope they'd both be out before the June expansion.

Rematching Raihan near the end of the game.

First time the Pokemon AI has ever outsmarted me. I led with Grimmsnarl, he used Yawn, I switched to Barraskewda and he hit me with Solar Beam on the switch. I like to believe the game programmed him to anticipate a switch to a water Pokemon.
