Every part of his character in Endgame was amazing, and the total experience was one of the best looks at Depression I've ever seen in a big blockbuster like that. And the fact that they didn't have him just "snap out of it" was such a relief. Thor had to struggle to do what was needed. Nothing came easy, but he still won in the end. Because that's how depression is, not something you overcome but something you survive.

I thought that was one of the strong points in the movie too. Not like Hulk, who resolved everything offscreen

He's going to be in Thor 4, we don't know how much.

Let me guess, you don't know anything about Depression and write it off as people just being sad?

I also felt it was realistic that he'd be a wreck.

In a short time span he:

-Lost his dad
-Killed his sister
-Lost his brother
-Lost half his ship of Asgardian friends
-Lost his home planet
-Finally defeated the man who caused him so much pain and he fails to kill him. As a result TRILLIONS died because Thor didn't aim for the head

So yea, Im sure he'd be depressed.

So do you not understand his character arc or are you just being wilfully ignorant?

I dont like fat Thor just like I didnt like the Mandarin in Iron Man 3. Their characterizations in those films are totally against what they were in the comics I never read.

Badass heroes & villains always need to be badass heroes & villains. Get outta here with that subverting expectations s***. #NotMyThor #NotMyMandarin

Guardians 3 better give us a Thor & Drax workout montage, with Rocket dressed like Mickey Goldmill.

Endgame Thor was great, but they put in way too much humor at the expense of his weight.

I trust Waititi not to do that if they keep him fat in Thor 4, but he'll probably be slim again in it so it's a moot point.

No it just didn't fit. Thor had to get nerfed somehow, they picked this way to do it, it was bad.
Just like hulk getting everything off screen, the paradox riddled time travel plotline that contradicted itself more than a few times, the totally dead but not really dead if they thought at all about it allies....

Endgame was a necessary movie for the goals of the group of character arcs, but let's face it, it was loose at best from a plot perspective.

Which is fine, it's a comic book popcorn flick.
But a spade is a spade. It was fan service.

What are you talking about? Raganarok to Infinity War is like...four days for Thor. In less than a week, he loses his dad, his hammer, his world, half his people, his brother, and then half of what was left of his people because he wanted to showboat and make Thanos suffer. And then later on he gets "revenge" on Thanos only for it to be a completely hollow, worthless thing.

Thor being depressed is extremely fitting.
