-piss easy even on hard mode
-little enemy variety
-tons of looting just to break it down into parts just to fix your equipment
-big bad corporation dominates every facet of the game
-main and sidequests sound way more exciting than they really are
-a lot of pointless conversation fluff

Nope, I love New Vegas and KOTOR. Outer Worlds just isn't that good tbh

In retrospect it was just a good game (or maybe even just okay) but it seemed like a big deal at the time because it was scratching an itch that no one else (certainly not Bethesda) is scratching anymore.

the fuck kinda rpg is that short?
particularly an AAA title

i haven't played it, but if it limits padding to a minimum i'm all for it. i wish more games would cut out garbage fluff content

The exploration is pointless in that game as all the unique locations are used by side quests or main quests. You also end up with the best gear in the game by the halfway point, and all the unique items are outclassed by basic tier 2 stuff since it can be modded and unique stuff can't.

Also, Byzantium is the biggest let down ever. 90% of the supposed capital city is all boarded up.

I agree, it could've been a lot better, but it scratched an itch that badly needed it. Between that, Dusk for FPS, and Fallen Order for Star Wars, I'm getting a lot of itches scratched lately.

Pro:
- Art Style
- Cool space pioneer setting
- Expansive Universe with possibilities for sequels
- Understandable maps (Why do Bethesda's maps suck so bad?)
- Easier to trade in useless items
- Interesting companions
- Branching quests & unexpected twists.

Cons:
- Brings little to the table gameplay-wise
- Repetitive enemies
- Poor optimization (on consoles)

In all honesty I was a bit disappointed by Outer Worlds. It does alot of things really well but as a whole doesn't offer anything that I haven't already experienced playing KOTOR or Mass Effect.

The art style is among the only memorable things about this game. I love what they did with atmosphere on each different planet. That and how they handled companions. They actually feel like people with goals and desires rather than a stable of attribute boost.

After getting a feel for the flavor, I like the game but I don't like how liner and slow the game is to start. While the game does offer different varieties on how to play the game, at the same time it doesn't. I'm sure Obsidian considers it a success and hopefully they make a sequel or something similar on their own again.
