Most of my passwords are 2-3 random unconnected words, followed by 2-3 random numbers, followed by 1-2 random numbers. Though I've also played around with mnemonics - so, for instance, you take a memorable sentence (like, say, "four random words is the ultimate password"), and reduce it down to only the first letters (so "frwisup").
