the stuff with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian she decided to delay it for a whole year, and basically scrapped the album she was working on then to make reputation and release it in late 2017?

If that happened i'm a little disappointed, because we could've gotten a much better follow-up album to 1989 in 2016 than what we ended up getting in 2017.

The lead single from reputation was terrible though, it soured me on the album and made a bad 1st impression on me.

Look What You Made Me Do is one of her worst songs and shouldn't've been the lead single or on rep at all really.

One weak song on an album full of bangers still means its better than 1989, which was good but mostly derivative pop cliches. It's easily her weakest album.

Reputation was dope though. I appreciate when artist switch up their styles a bit. Now Taylor is back to doing pop and no one new gives a shit, only her core base. And her reputation tour was the most successful in history, people talk trash about the album but she out here making fucking bank off it.

@Politics I ask because up until that point, she was releasing an album every 1 and half to 2 years, so 2016 would've been the time she would've seemingly put out a new album since 1989 came out in 2014.

So that's why i wonder if the things with Kanye and Kim made her to decide to start over from scratch and release a year later, making the time between albums 3 years that time instead of the usual amount of time.

I'm surprised you remember lol. I like End Game a decent amount now. In general I really like Reputation.

I do like Lover as well, though I don't know how I feel about it overall. I need to give it some more listens, actually.

Has Taylor even said anything herself if she was originally gonna release an album in 2016 or not?

I mean its kinda odd to me that she would just decide to wait to release an album 3 years after that time around after she'd been putting out albums about every 2 years at that point, plus her 10 year career anniversary was in 2016 and i assume she probably wanted to put out a new album to celebrate that also.
