nope we are smack in the middle of it. fat juicy hiatus too, it's been like a year now. Honestly the hiatuses don't bother me too much, I just look at it like my favorite show goes on break before coming back for the next season. Every time he's come back he's done 10 chapter blocks before going on break for another year, so it feels like a new mini season. You really can't rush perfection, y'know?

Not one of my favorite matchups. Fox can chain grab himself on FD, so at high level this becomes a retreating drill standoff to just get that shine for a tech chase into a grab. At least at the mid-to-high percents theres some room for creativity on the grab follow-ups, but by that point the other fox has probably already DId offstage. Fox dittos are way more exciting on every other stage

I honestly dont know. its cool to watch the culmination of a 20+ year long narrative finally begin to take shape, but I feel like its lost a lot of its identity. the pacing is atrocious and the fights feel meaningless. like big mom with temporary amnesia is punching luffy to train his new super haki he learns in 2 hours a jail cell i guess thats whats happening? too much jumping around between different characters with no progress being made. i feel like the immense size of the world is working against it

but dressrosa is pretty sick when you binge it, i loved the sanji stuff in whole cake, zou was dope, and wano has potential.

this is all why I stopped reading it weekly and wait for an arc to finish to binge it now. dressrosa seems like it would have been a nightmare to piece together weekly

Music aside, I feel like Kanye is in a great place right now. He's seemed genuinely happy and fulfilled since he started doing Sunday Service early this year. I know this Christian direction won't last, as no Kanye era ever really does, but it's been really nice to see him in such a good place.

Anyway, Kanye is gonna be president. Coming out in support of Trump was intentional and calculated. Note how he never really said what it was about Trump that he liked. The purpose of supporting Trump wasn't just to create controversy or tank his public image. Kanye is actually playing 4D chess with America, and is intelligently maneuvering himself into a position where he can make the big changes to society he loves ranting about. By publicly coming out in full support of Trump, but not his political ideologies or actions, he is currying favor with Trump's voter base. You see, people who support Trump don't actually care about his policies, they just like the idea of what he represents. Despite assumptions you may make, the majority of these people aren't actually racist xenophobic hatemongers, they're just slaves to their own mental shackles. By appealing to this substantial chunk of the American populace by supporting Trump, as well as this Christian direction he's been taking, Kanye is attempting what can only be described as the greatest political ploy of all time.

Once he feels he's gotten the necessary support, he will announce his campaign. The billionaire Yeezy owner has the funding. He has the support of Trump-Republicans, Kim Kardashian fans, and handsome intellectual music lovers combined. I have no idea what party he'll be running for, but I have a pretty good idea of his platform. With his new right-wing base, Kanye will subvert expectations once more and run on a very liberal platform centered around prison reform. If you listen to Kanye's music or follow him in the media, I shouldn't have to quote New Slaves for you to know the private prison system is gonna be his number one priority. Based on his music and interviews and such I can only assume/hope the rest of his platform will be focused on similarly underprivileged communities, but that might have been limited to Kanye West and not "Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West". Time will tell, I suppose.

But when the time comes, he's got my vote. Sure he's a literal crazy person, but who isn't? At least with Kanye, what you see is what you get. Yeah he's bi-polar with regular, manic, god-complex highs, but his heart's in the right place. I could see the campaign slogan now: Crazy or Corrupt? I don't know about you, but I'm voting crazy every time.

Also: ye was a really good album and pretty underrated. Jesus Is King was flawed but enjoyable nonetheless. Kids See Ghosts is a 10/10 masterpiece. Anyone who says Kanye's fallen off can catch these mf hands

I actually really like playing Ultimate; it's super fun with friends, and Pokemon Trainer gives me life. I just think it's really dumb to compare it with Melee. Melee is just different. It transcends simply being a Smash game, and offers something more.

I, and similarly like-minded individuals, consider Melee to be the ultimate competitive activity. Nowhere else have I ever seen the blazing fast, on-the-fly decision making of Melee. The push and pull aspect of every interaction, the will and wit of two individuals pushing each other to their limits. The technical prowess, extreme precision, and degree of dynamic mindgames present in every single game of Melee elevates playing and spectating into something greater. Your positioning and reactions to your opponent, down to the most minute pixel or a single frame, radically alter both your and your opponent's options. I know this isn't a phenomenon exclusive to Melee, but Melee offers more room for creativity and control than any other activity like it. You have absolute command over your character down to the frame, and the plethora of movement options and dynamic defensive options allow the game to never really be "solved" or grow stale, even after close to 2 decades of competition and development.

The game allows you to express yourself moreso than any other of its kind, and that expression is evident in any match you watch. Once you have a good grasp of your movement and options, it's no exaggeration to say the character on screen becomes what feels like an extension of your own body. Players really create an identity for themselves within their playstyle, and despite there only being ~11 relevant characters at top level, the options and depth these characters provide keep the game fresh and the gameplay exciting. I couldn't tell you how many times I've sat down with a friend and just played Fox dittos for hour on end, and then watched a tournament and lost my mind at top-level Fox dittos. There is so much depth and nuance within every interaction that simply writing off a match as "Fox dittos no items Final Destination" misses the point entirely. It's a game of two adversaries engaging in combat. It's the battle of two wills. It's who has mastery over their character and craft? Who put in the hours grinding their tech skill? Who can be more creative on the fly? Who can figure the other one out first? I really really love it.

While Ultimate is a really cool game, it doesn't have those same appeals. I could have a great time playing Ultimate, but it's not even in the same conversation when it comes to what I look for in a competitive game. Not only that, but the lack of movement options and crazy buffer make the core gameplay much more streamlined and constrictive. What puts a bow on it for me is just how boring I find it to watch. I tried to like it, I really did. They even have Leffen and Armada playing! But I just can't get into watching two players trying to bore each other to death every stock.

That was really fun! Didn't know any of the songs going into it, so I think I expected a little more "rap" in the musical but I thought it pretty great. I still have Satisfied in regular rotation, and Wait For It is one of my favorite songs.

But obviously you were the best part. My trip actually completely fell apart basically as soon as you left my sight. It was really nice to grab few drinks and a smoke with the boys after years of just talking shit on Discord. Your weed was pretty trash but the company was A1 =)

There's just so much ground to cover that unless Wano has the main climax, I really don't see it wrapping up by 2024. The sooner the better tho so we can get that sexy One Piece Kai and the series can actually be accessible to new people

I used to be a big proponent of input buffering, and I still think I'd like a little, but I prefer none at all to Ultimate's way of doing things. Ultimate is actually harder to play because you can't predict what your buttons will do in some situations.
