You could make a Dragon Ball movie with nothing but 68-year-old deaf/blind people and it could still be good if everybody involved is passionate about the original manga/anime. I don't know what's so hard about sticking to the source material. The Sonic redesign is one of the single most amazing things to ever happen in the history of licensed film, because it actually broke the cycle of soulless, unfeeling adaptations of beloved characters/franchises. All it takes is some loyalty to the product and its fans, and these movies can work well. --- I write Naruto Fanfiction.
