RULES:
1. Vote for the character you like more. That's it.
2. Each user gets one vote per match (no alts). These are one-on-ones, after all.
3. Rounds last exactly 24 hours from the opening post and any votes thereafter will be disregarded.
4. A new match will be posted daily by Andy or Metalmind, with a break for Thanksgiving.
5. Each vote counts - the votes are what matters most. The match's winner will get bonus votes equal to 20% of the total votes in a match, rounded down. Both will get the bonus in a tie.
6. Characters will face off against every other character in their division once, with division champions (most total votes) moving on to the Finals and runners-up to the Wild Card. If there's a tie, the tiebreakers are 1) whoever has more wins and 2) average margin of victory.
7. The users who nominated each character will be kept hidden, as votes are for characters, not users. Users are forbidden from rallying, including posting additional propaganda that is not already in this opening post, as this can give their character an unfair advantage.

"What am I doing with a surfboard? Please. Just because I'm pretty and popular, it doesn't mean I can't surf. It's not just for lazy stoners, you know. I happen to be the sixth ranked female surfer in the world under 21, and I won't stop until I'm the best on Earth, period. Surfing helps me relax, which I need, since there's a lot of things in life that stress me out. My parents tried the whole 'tiger mom' thing with me until I got to high school and they realized it was driving me crazy... then they started pushing me too far in the other direction, always trying to get me to slow down and have fun, which is sometimes just as bad! And don't get me started on my friends... I mean, I love them, but sometimes it gets frustrating when they're not as focused on winning as I am! I guess that's on me though, and I really am working on it. Yoga helps, and there's nothing like going out to the beach and finding a nice quiet spot to sit down, close my eyes, and listen to the waves. Maybe I'll hop on my board and catch one... there's always time to practice for my next competition."

Basics:
-Age 18, 5' 7''
-Born in San Francisco, California, to Japanese parents who immigrated to America when they were young
-She's currently studying business at Stanford University
-Learned to surf when she was nine, and continued doing it ever since, mostly as a hobby to relieve stress, but also because she was good at it and enjoys being good at things. She's also skilled in other extreme sports which she regularly competes in with her friends. She's very athletic, probably the best pure athlete in her group, though her best friend (who she loves dearly but argues with all the time) is still a better skateboarder than her.
-Was the "queen bee" of her middle school and quite popular in high school. She's still a bit stuck up, but is working on improving herself, and meditates to help with this.
-She's a perfectionist who tends to fixate on certain flaws, sometimes in others, but especially in herself. This can lead to bouts of deep regret over people she's hurt in the past during some of her meaner episodes, and episodes of intense self-loathing. She's the kind of person who tends to avoid apologizing when she should, and then over-apologizes later on.

"Hello hello! That's me! Artemis! I might seem like an adorable little pup, but I've got this really cool power that lets me grow huge and crush all of the bad guys that get in my way! Right now, my friends and I are trying to bring Gotham back together after it has turned into a pretty big mess. Along with being able to grow big, I've also got the ability to speak so that's probably why this uh... little message thing I'm making for you all isn't just in barks, haha. Luckily, I'm still able to communicate with my animal friends. Patch and Isis are my closest friends and I would do anything to protect them. When I'm not running around Gotham with my friends and trying to put it back together, some of the things I enjoy are dancing and performing! I would really love one day to own a little theater where I can perform for people and make them applaud for me. If you bring me eggs to eat, I will love you forever.

The Basics
- Artemis is a one and a half year old Pomeranian Mix
- His normal size is about a foot and a half tall, roughly weighing about 15-20 pounds
- Due to his powers, he can grow up to 10 feet tall currently but one of his most common forms while walking around is his wolf sized form which is about 3 and a half feet tall, roughly 150 pounds.

Some backstory:

Artemis as a young pup was taken away to a laboratory owned by Kirk Langstrom, better known as Man-Bat. There he was tortured and tested on day after day, along with many other animals and creatures. Unlike many of the others that had been brought in, Artemis managed to survive these tests and eventually found that he had these new powers. One of being able to grow to a much bigger size, and the other, to be able to communicate using the English language. He eventually was able to escape Kirk's grasp but had to abandon the friends and family he had made while he was confined there. He made new friends after becoming part of a group that would one day set out to bring Gotham together... but they were mostly all humans... something he probably won't ever be able to be entirely comfortable with.

Later on, as Artemis and his friends start to piece Gotham back together, they were able to locate some of Artemis's closest friends in another laboratory. While both Isis and Nina were alive to be rescued, many of the others that he had known and grown up with had perished.

Not too long after, Artemis met up with Patch, a rat who had also escaped the lab but had returned to Artemis to tell them where Isis and Nina were located. While Artemis did indeed have human friends, there was no way that any of those relationships would be as strong as the ones with his animal friends.

Artemis began to quickly realize that while he could be friendly with humans, his trust in them was ever fleeting. There is something in his mind that will not allow him to trust them completely. Artemis doesn't understand that he has a pretty serious case of PTSD due to most of his life being confined in a cage and tortured by humans.

While out and about, Artemis will often put on a facade to appear always happy and helpful. He doesn't want to risk upsetting his human friends for fear that they will abandon him or worse. He will try and avoid human conflict and drama at all costs because of this.
