I used to read those Archie Sonic comics as a kid.

I still have a huge stack of them somewhere.

When you have a series starring a talking blue hedgehog that collects rings and eats chili dogs...nothing is off limits for weird.

In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic, one issue had Tails turn giant to battle an elephant. There's a 90% chance somebody has cranked it to this page.

I think Sonic first started to get weird around Sonic Adventure 2. That was when the franchise started to have weird implications like having an American President. Who keeps a photo of Sonic on his desk.

Sonic started getting weird and bad once it went 3D

SA1s animations are uncanny and poor

If Mario's first venturn into 3d was a talkative Mario with powers designed as fursuits, it'd be in the same lane of weirdness.

Also, the 90s had Lola bunny, which definitely skyrocketed sexualized cartoon animals
