Follow up on my ordeal.

Seven days after surgery, the worst pain has passed. Got morning wood on the third day, something I had foreseen which is why I had an ice bucket near the bed so I could minimize the pain. It was five minutes of blinding agony that had me wondering if Dante and Virgil would pass by at any second to laugh at me.

Last night I could get the first erection without passing out, and I've noticed it's much easier to get rock hard, but now it requires more concentration to keep it up. One second lapse and it starts going down but you stimulate and it goes right back up in a second. Hopefully it'll get better once it fully heals.

Jury is still out on my final opinion, I'll write more later. On my way to get stitches removed.

Why did you get circumcised? If you have phimosis you'll usually get a cream and get told to do some stretching. Sure it takes months to peel back the foreskin all the way, but it's way better than getting circumcised and losing an important part of your penis. Don't let American culture pressure you into feeling bad for having a foreskin.

I was getting some rash called Posthitis. It was always coming and going and driving me mad for the past five years. I tried anti fungal, antibiotics, everything. Nothing kept it away for more than a few months.

God I'm so traumatized by an event I don't remember happening in my life.

Who should I talk too???

That's not funny man. We all react differently. The psychological effects basically ruined my life.

I personally remember all the pain and I was aware enough to realize that the pain was caused by a person. Therefore I've had CRIPPLING social phobia all of my life and despite what I do, it can not and will not ever go away. I'm 30 and because of this shit 've never had a relationship and not even a real friend. I want to go out and enjoy time with people but I just can't do it because whenever people are around me I get an intense panic feeling and I have to isolate myself immediately. The only people I feel comfortable around are my parents and when they die I'm basically screwed.

Why? All because of corporate greed and absolutely no sympathy for a fellow living being. It's sickening and they should be in jail for the lies, deception and torture. Please don't joke about something just because it didn't affect you the same way. You got lucky to avoid any permanent mental effects, be thankful for that and please show a little compassion for those of us that were permanently affected by an evil barbaric act. Thank you, no hard feelings.

I don't believe you. An infant does not begin to become fully conscious until it is several months old because before then, short and long term memories are incapable of being stored. Only after around 4-6 months do infants begin to gain the ability to store and process memories. Even then the ability is not fully developed until the late toddler years.

No, you were traumatized by something else you fail to actually remember, but you ascribe it to circumcision because it's the only permanent change you can see. Might I suggest a hypnotherapist to see if they can dig out the latent memory that actually caused the trauma?

One thing I find very odd about circumcision is that it's usually done a few days after birth. Yet doctors tell parents of un-circumcised boys not to pull back the foreskin until the boy is at least 18 months as that can damage the glans.

Did he state when he was circumcised? I mean sure if it was done a few days after birth then a normal human wouldn't be able to remember it but if it was done later at say 2 months old then there is a risk that such a traumatic experience becomes one of the first memories of an individual.

The foreskin will loosen up before puberty starts. Never heard of of parents being told to do it at 18 months. What's there to be confused about? You don't cut off the foreskin so you can wait for it to naturally peel back. The foreskin is there to protect the glans.

Routine circumcision is often medically unnecessary. TC's situation is one of the rare instances it had to be done due to infection. There is nothing wrong with having a foreskin. UTI and phimosis are treatable. Washing it in the shower barely takes a few seconds. Yes circumcision does reduce the chance of penile cancer, but of course cutting off a part of the penis reduces the chances of getting penile cancer.

Even if it doesn't traumatize you, there's the principle of bodily autonomy. No one should be modifying your body without your consent. Not even your parents, unless your underage and the mutilation is medically necessary.

We're so flippant about something that we would not support if it was anything else. Social conditioning will make you think anything is ok. It's scary.

I have no issue with an adult choosing to remove their foreskin for cosmetic purposes.

It's weird how people are so quick to resort to shaming and namecalling when people speak out against routine circumcision. The social conditioning is so strong that you're considered a weirdo for being against routine circumcision for infants. Circumcision is mostly done for cultural reasons. It looks betters to Americans because you're raised to believe that being uncut is strange.

Yeah I don't buy the "circumcision ruined my life despite everyone in my country getting circumcised" but there is literally no logical reason to do it to 99% of the children that receive it.
