Its true name is not recorded lol. Often it is simply referred to as Yodas species.

It's about the only mystery left in Star Wars, so I don't think we'll get more info than what we have already.

This episode was super fun. Seeing this top tier bounty hunter struggle with Jawas is my jam.

We've only ever seen Yoda and Yaddle but their species has never been named. I bet it will get one though. Hell, we now know Palpatines first name.

Will anyone be surprised if it turns out that it isn't actually a baby? Like it's putting on an act because it knows it looks like one?

I don't know, the whole age thing doesn't work when you really think about it if it's literally got the mind of a baby at 50

Its funny because that was one of the first things Disney did.

Just look to our own planet. A human is still very much a baby for a year vs say a dog or a deer. Species age differently.

Really great two episodes and this from someone who has been pretty disgusted where Star wars has gone.

Yoda is like 900 years old when he dies in RotJ (unless Disney changed that? Correct me if I am wrong I don't follow Star Wars like I did when I was a kid)

That basically means he should be 18-20 at the time of his death, yet he acts like an old man.

That's what I mean when I say the age doesn't match up correctly. Unless, mentally, it isn't a baby and is just putting on an act.

And like, even if it isn't the case it isn't a deal breaker for me cause it's all made up shit. I'm just saying on a first glance look at it it doesn't really make sense as presented so I'm kind of like "What if this is a trick like Yoda played on Luke acting goofy and dumb in ESB?"

Depends on how you work the numbers.

Say avg human life is 70 and avg Yoda-life is 100 human years. That would make Yoda 90 in human years and the baby 5. Which, yeah 5 is a bit old to be so infantile but you could shift the numbers a bit more or just chalk it up to specie differences.

What I like most so far is that all the Ls that TM has taken since he got to Arvala-7 recontexualize the cool guy exterior he had for the first 20 minutes of the show. He's not unskilled, but he definitely relies a lot on the Mandalorian armor/reputation and hackneyed one liners to see him through trouble. Like how he intimidates the Imperials into backing down first, but the Jawas don't give a shit so he has to be the one to disarm.

Also the way his equipment is useful but not invincible. His ship gets stripped and has to be put back together, his cool rifle jams in the mud, the flamethrower is more of an intimidation tactic or "oh shit" button, etc.
