I started playing Destiny 2 last night (it went F2P). It was fun to just run around shooting things, help out a fellow player or two (they still show up even without PS+), and participate in public events. If you've ever wanted to give it a try, it costs literally nothing and doesn't bully you into spending money, though there are some bounties that require a season pass.
Shaders are still consumables for some reason even though I thought they were going to revert those back to infinite use, but the D2 board tells me that I'll have plenty by the time I hit the power cap. Oh, this is good. A guy who made a helpful interactive map for Fallout 76 got banned after he suspected a possible exploit, then confirmed and reported it, so Bethesda banned him for doing an exploit. They're not refunding his premium membership fee either, since he spent some of the premium currency that gets him, even though that really has nothing to do with anything. So, fed up with them and their constant inaction/fuckups, he just shut down the map and left a scathing message to Bethesda in its place.
Safe to say, Bethesda's only value is as a publisher now. First snowfall of the season! Well, the first that stuck, anyway.
I wish there were some kind of speaker that could broadcast outdoor noises. Death Stranding is pretty slow so far. There's big, uneven expanses of ground between locations, and you're usually carrying cargo that weighs you down. Apparently there's something in chapter 3 that helps you get around faster, but I haven't gotten there yet. It's definitely not for everyone, especially if you like action. Again, basing this off the first two chapters.
At least it's got that Kojima creativity and weirdness. Like, the main character literally has a phobia of being touched or making emotional attachments, yet he's tasked with reconnecting the people of the US by reactivating this large communications network. And despite his phobia, he's forming an attachment to the little baby in a tank he carries around, even with the game measuring the level of attachment. Another thing is that an upside-down rainbow in the sky appears when those invisible phantom things are nearby. There's an indirect social aspect as well. You can find structures and signs left by other players, drop off cargo to hopefully be delivered by someone else, take other people's lost packages to finish their deliveries, and there's a menu showing other players in your area and if you and them have ever exchanged likes.
