sephy, thoughts on b.o.b presents: the adventures of bobby ray?Really? As someone who caught onto BoB very early into his mixtape career, I thought his first album torpedoed his chances to have a J.Cole-like career. --- "A more mature answer than I expected."~ Jakyl25 "Sephy's point is right."~ Inviso ... Really? I don't remember anyone on this board or otherwise caring for that album, then or now! It's about as average as a "vaguely talented rapper goes pop" album could possibly be, and since B.O.B. sunk into utter irrelevance not long after there's no legacy there either.Lol I didn't even read your response before posting, but yes. BoB, Cudi, J.Cole and Kendrick Lamar were the rappers that were hyped as the next big things when I was in college. Their range of success and career paths would make for a fascinating documentary. --- "A more mature answer than I expected."~ Jakyl25 "Sephy's point is right."~ Inviso ... Copied to Clipboard!

Very disappointing, because he was arguably the most musically gifted of that group (listen to "Tightrope" Wondamix with him and Lupe Fiasco). Reminded me of a young Andre 3000.
I saw him at a festival once and I got the feeling he's just making underground stuff instead of trying to be a crossover pop star. So maybe there's still hope he'll emerge. --- "A more mature answer than I expected."~ Jakyl25 "Sephy's point is right."~ Inviso ... Copied to Clipboard!
