Modded for spoiling Deliverance. I had to go up like 2 levels. My defense was a trailer for the movie discussing what was marked as a spoiler. Eventually overturned.

How about when posting or even asking about Youtube videos was moddable. I got modded for asking for a specific video on the WWE board.

Either that or one time I was talking about the GTA V character Franklin and the mods thought I was talking about the user. I didn't even say anything bad about the character or anybody. It got overturned, but still. I even got a sort of "you knew what you were doing" kind of message from the mods too. I seriously wasn't trying to be clever.

Modded for posting spoilers in a Wheel of Time discussion topic about skill level of various swordsmen in the series. Literally just named one character that would definitely be in the top 10 and had nothing else in the post. Had to be overturned by a lead because the original mod was being weirdly argumentative and stubborn about it, lol

Over the years I took advantage of BOGO to get Wii U games for free.
Mods interpreted this as me pirating because "you got them free, you said so yourself"

Along with other stupid things. The mods on this site moderate based on their feelings though.

made a joke in a topic about the World Series about how Kate Upton should go home with Stephen Strasburg since he's bested her man twice in a pitching duel. Someone marked the post and the mod said "implying that women are property that stand to be won is offensive and misogynistic! Don't do that again!"

You are 100% mistaken. The mod tools literally do not allow topics on boards without topicality to be moderated for off-topic.

Maybe they just jumped the system then by using a different type of moderation? This was a few years back mind you, but I was comparing Star Wars novel characters with The Force Awakens characters, and the mod pretty much said this topic is about the movie, not the books.

Although its worth noting that I almost never dispute and probably just hit accept without looking, but he worded it like I was off topic.

Not here on GameFAQs but on a forum on a final fantasy website I got modded for copyright infringement for posting a screenshot of the "you spoony bard" scene from Final Fantasy 4. Which is kind of funny since their website is filled with pictures of the characters and screenshots from the games...

Anyway that forum was famous for having ridiculously harsh moderators.

Was it a official forum? Japanese Copyright is ridiculous.

I called cops in a thread about police brutality pigs and got this completely inexplicable moderation lecture explaining that you can't be mean to cops and that opinions in such threads should be no more than "I like cops" or "I dont trust cops"

It was completely laughable and even though it got held up after I disputed it Ive not stopped saying it, because whoever pushed that through was either being disingenuous or has never been in a police thread on CE before.
