What if you are illegally downloading music by ripping the audio out of YouTube videos? Does your ISP know of your adult website viewing?

They know but don't care. Unless it's for the obvious stuff or it's content they own

The websites you view, they only store that data for about 6 months or so (depending on your isp, and state/national laws).

yes especially if

1) You don't change the DNS server from its default, since its usually the isp's DNS
2) Your connection is unencrypted, ie no https, SSL, etc.

if you're worried

I'm fairly certain it is now standard to store logs for a much longer period of time, at least several years. Yes, your ISP knows every website you visit. If you'd like more privacy, get a subscription to a reputable VPN.

Your ISP knows every destination IP address you visit unless you take concerted steps to obscure them. From these addresses it's trivial to perform a reverse DNS lookup, but you're probably using your provider's DNS servers already anyway unless you set them manually or configured your own DHCP server.

Tor protects you if you use it correctly, probably. Nobody really knows how many of those hops are owned by intelligence agencies. VPN service helps... although if you do something bad enough and push comes to shove, is your VPN company going to tell the US government "no?" Depends on the company and jurisdiction, I guess.

Best just to avoid doing anything that could generate a subpoena. Your ISP certainly isn't going to fight for your privacy if they're served with one.

I dont know if this is something ISPs track, nor am i sure if you, the viewer/listener is the one getting in trouble.

Regardless a VPN will prevent either case (unless im missing something) and if you got a recording utillity (If you own an NVidia gpu and has Geforce experience installed press ALT+Z) you can just use that.

Dont think recordings like this connects to the internet.
