While I do like some instrumental music, singing is my favorite part of music. Its not even really about the lyrics per se, the voice is my favorite instrument.

i find instrumentals highly relaxing.

The all allong the watchtower instrumental that was in s.o.a. is great.

I like music that takes me somewhere. Lyrics make the song too specific and impede my mind from wandering... or something. So, I generally gravitate toward instrumental music or music with near incomprehensible vocals.

Vocals can be a crutch for a lot of otherwise bad-sounding songs, but they can also enhance good-sounding songs.
