Yes.
The GOP is no longer competing the old fashioned way, as it was meant to be.They employ underhanded tactics, such as recruiting 3rd party candidates to undermine the democrats, manufactured outrage (e.g. buttery males), getting help from 3rd parties such as cambridge analytica or foreign governments, etc.

Adding to that, the democrats are being stupid about it, they have many primary candidates, they have purity tests and want to move too far to the left.

Adding to that, there's always the electoral college.

It's tough to say, feel like I'd give it about 55% odds of him getting re-elected. He's good enough at dominating media attention that he'll cut into his opponents media attention, and if the impeachment talk doesn't go anywhere in time he'll spin it off as him being "proven innocent" and enough people will believe it. Plus if the economy is doing well, he's the guy in office and that always favours the incumbent. As much as a lot of people hate him (and I'm in that crowd myself, even if I'm not actually American), I think there are enough people out there receptive to being told all the controversies are just blown out of proportion for him to pull it off.

I voted "no," but of course it depends in large part on who the democrats nominate. Bernie or Warren make it much more likely I think, as far as the frontrunners.

But also... I thought there was no way he'd ever get any traction and get anywhere near the GOP nomination, then I thought there was absolutely no way he'd win the general election, and.......... here we are.

Yes, most likely. He's wildly popular within his party, probably more so than he was in 2016 now that most of the #NeverTrump people have cooled off or become irrelevant.

No way Biden has a better chance against Trump than Sanders, you kidding me?

I don't think Sanders would win, either, for a variety of reasons, but Biden has to be the weakest "frontrunner" in decades.

Every single time he's trotted out in front of a crowd he loses supporters.

Trump won on his (fake) populism. Biden can't even pretend to be that.

Assuming Biden doesn't implode on the campaign trail, and can keep his eyes from shooting out blood in the middle of debates and such, all he has to do is win *back* a handful of previously loyal blue dog union democrats in the rust belt that were woooed over by Trump being kinda racist and not Hillary. Obama won Ohio twice, so in theory Biden has a shot, although Trump won that handily--but Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania... no one expected him to win ANY of them and he won them all and thus is the President. I think Biden probably doesn't lose any states Hillary won and probably wins those back. Maybe other democrats can as well, but as far as frontrunners he's the only one I see getting back that specific set of voters. Regardless of how they may have previously or in the future benefited from that type of policy, they don't like the Bernie and Warren "FREE STUFF!!!!!" platforms because they are the WORKIN' MAN. That type scares off those votes. Hillary wasn't that type, but she was Hillary.
