Hourly employees are unionized, yes.
It's a really awful system. All it does is protect the lazy and problematic employees. Never once have I seen it used by a good employee. Also, the only time we ever actually see someone from the union is when there is an election coming up.

Unions are a lot like flight attendants: Most of the time, they're kind just kind of pointless and annoying, but you should hope like hell that you never need them to fill their actual purpose.

my job was unionized
made less than min wage and had to work on sat and sun
it was pretty lame
calling something unionized that pays less then min wage
thank god I didn't switch healthcare
