Ok here is the sitch, I wanna watch the new crossover event starting Dec 8th in the arrowverse. I wanna see what Tom's superman has been up to, and....I wanted to watch black lightning anyway cause I have heard good things from multiple sources.

I stopped watching because a few seasons ago all of them were being super freaking negative/depressing and I couldn't handle it. It was around the time the Flashes GF was destined to die, supergirls sister was fighting with her cop girlfriend and I don't remember what was going on in Arrow butit was depressing as hell.

Anyway, for now I'm starting off watching season 1 and 2 of black lightning, then I'll keep up with the new episodes this season as much as possible.

I'm asking for advice on the other shows, supergirl, arrow, flash, legends...think thats it.....Should I continue back where I left off (think it was mid 3 seasons ago), or should I skip those seasons and does it get better somewhere after that (like watch just last season of all of them or something?).

I got enough time to catch up on them all...while still watching supernatural, young sheldon, the rookie etc.....but it's a ton of shows to watch even in almost 2 months. Also, it was REALLY hard to watch them all which is why I stopped, because they were pretty much all depressing at the time (so is Legacies at this point which I'm also watching).

Would really like to go back and start watching when things are not as dark, and there is a bit more humor. Black lightning is starting off ok, but pretty dark as well so far, I hope there is more (actually some) humor in it eventually.

Anyway, any advice from arrowverse fans/experts would be appreciated (without spoilers please).

Thanks.

Most of the shows have lightened up since those seasons you mentioned (The Flash season 3 was disliked for being uncharacteristically dark). Legends turned up the silly and ripped the knob off, and Supergirl has a good amount of fun moments.

There's no reason you have to watch everything you want before the crossover; you might be in the dark about a few things, but plenty of people don't watch every show so you wouldn't be alone there.

Cool, maybe i'll just skip flash season 3 then, think I was like halfway through it when I gave up. I had stopped watching legends actually around season 2 I think? That didn't get dark, it just...kinda got stupid?? I don't know but I stopped watching it. Arrow was just plain flat out dark/depressing/sad and not fun. They were all fighting and stuff....not sure if I will be able to get back into that one or not (the flash at least still had some fun moments, arrow just felt like a chore to watch).

Supergirl was meh, never really liked it a ton, first season was pretty good, but when it switched to CW it seemed to go downhil and then with the others being depressing, it had a kinda sad/downer season as well, so it just piled on with the rest. I think I can get back into watching that one though the easiest.

I'm watching BL right now, and I wish they had done Luke cage like this, it's way better then Luke cage was and I'm only on episode 2 so far. Better villians, better powers, better characters, better "ethinic background" whole thing seems better so far, but I obviously need to watch it more before giving a final verdict.

Gonna watch that first, don't think any of the show was involved in the previous cross over events. Then I'll watch supergirl probably up till the first crossover I have not watched, then give flash a shot (maybe start at season 4) till the season 4 crossover and try and catch up on the others.

I did really like the flash and arrow early on though, and legends wasn't horrid the first season or so. Supergirl season 1 was pretty good as well, but seemed to drag a bit in season 2.

Be nice to get back into watching them though, especially with supernatural going away after this season, will give me some stuff to watch in the future.

Ahhh James Remar .....was Dexters Dad!!

I hate when I can't place someone. I knew his face, knew it was from a show I really liked, but couldn't place it till now.

Kept thinking he was alfred in a batman or something but finally got it.

usually the crossovers haven't required you to stay current on all the shows.

legends became a good comedy.

flash has been about the same level of whine, but cisco and ralph make the show.

past couple seasons of arrow have been really bad. the villains sucked, much more relationship drama, and last season started flash forward crap with a mostly new cast.

supergirl gets a little more preachy each season. i have it on in the background while playing classic wow, but might drop it if it doesn't pick up.

They say Ras al Ghul wrong, and spread that mispronunciation far and wide. My advice is nobody watch it and let it get cancelled because of that.

Yeah, I don't know about arrow...that was pretty hard to watch even before I stopped. Legends as a comedy might work ok, the second season lost me, and I stopped watching midway through I think. It was kinda all over the place.

Flash I liked, it was pretty much the reason I watched any of the others (generally catching up on them before a cross over), but that last season...man it was depressing and since it was the reason I watched the rest....I tossed em all.

Supergirl.....shrug......I'll give it a shot. Watching BL right now and enjoying it at least. Could also just watch the crossovers I guess and read up on what happens in the episodes in between if I get really bored.

Batwoman is also part of the Arrowverse. It's decent so far. Only 2 episodes

Legends season 2 is widely regarded as the best. Is there anything in particular that you didn't like?

Don't remember enough about it to specifically say, but...it could also have been season 3...I barely remember anything about it...think they got rid of some of the cast though or something.
