Brittany Spencer, a waitress at Fat Joe's Bar & Grill in Wisconsin was FIRED because she REFUSED to serve a couple who referred to one of her transgender customers as "disgusting and wrong"

She was sent home when an elderly couple began making disparaging comments to her on another customer and asked her if she thought it was disgusting and wrong and why they would let someone like them into their establishment. She said "No, i do not agree with that" and walked off

She then asked her manager to ask another waitress to serve the old coots and she was told to go home and ended up fired

Brittany said "She essentially told me to suck it up or go home and i said Ok, then i will leave"

She posted about it on her FB and the following day she was let go and said she stood by her morals

Tad Wallender, the co-owner said she was sent home because she refused todo her job but said they only fired her for BADMOUTHING the company

He said "I've heard hundreds of conversations i didn't agree with,but it's a matter of brushing it off and toughing it out through your task. She refused to do aduty we hired her for. That's the bottom line in a nutshell"

She then wrote again on the firing and said "I WAS FIRED FROM MY JOB BECAUSE I REFUSED TO WAIT ON A TABLE WHO WERE MAKING TRANSPHOBIC REMARKS ABOUT GUESTS AT ANOTHER TABLE. But i'll always choose my morals over money. See ya"

Fat Joe's said they hold a NEUTRAL stance towards all points of views regarding sensitive and polar topics and appreciate all patrons

Spencer was flooded with support from the LGBTQ community who praised her for "standing up for the rights and not allowing hate to be spread".

She is now filing an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

Not quite. It looks like she went home that night. And was fired the next day. I believe that the manager told her that night to serve them or go home. And she went home. And then was fired the next day, probably before work, or when she got there...

How exactly did she stop anything except her employment? And instead of providing emotional support, maybe they could provide some financial support because the bitch just lost her job. If everybody who said a kind word also donated a buck, she'd probably be more than covered until she found a new job.

That annoys me too though, it's a weird and outdated habit that I treat with the same level of annoyance I have for anyone non-religious going ermagerd but most of all the inconsistency bothers me-why nothing when you cough or fart? The rest of our involuntary bodily noises demand equal attention.
