22, took it again and got 23.

I'm not socially awkward, but I really don't care for friends and would rather do some nerdy thing than hang out with anyone. If I wasn't good at reading emotions I would probably be considered autistic.

Good luck with AISH if you choose to go that route. I applied and they constantly harassed me and accused me of lying about my medical history. I got a 27.

I'm employed full time and supporting myself

I don't think I qualify for any level of public assistance and I am not pursuing that

I would just like a proper diagnosis instead of a heap of incorrect ones.

Its nice to have the fallback. Its also nice that you can function in a work environment without issues. That doesnt really sound like a 45 on that test to me at all.

I got approved but they were constantly asking me to prove my income to them and requesting bank statements etc. I made the mistake of including my debits as well.

That was my score. You're very much assuming I function at work daily without issues. I have to excuse myself and manage my work environment to prevent issues from happening. It's not easy but I also don't have a safety net

I saw a lot of talk in this topic about how autism is different in children and adults and changes over time. And it does. But it's also significantly different in women than men. Women that function can mask and fake it on a different level and go undiagnosed.

People have seen the change in me I have become a lot more socially skilled by I still struggle to do tasks without visual aid and have been fired from two electrician jobs because I failed to understand spoken instructions and would take 1.5-2 times longer then other co-workers to do the same task.

Dont think I can receive any benefits though.

Yeah I need certain things to learn. I've become a fanatic note taker and diagram maker in all meetings and that's really the only thing that saves my ass there.

My last job helped so much for social skills. Had to be a receptionist and lead groups around. I fucking hated it and begged to not do those things but it ended up teaching me a lot and not being so bad by the end.

Your score was 26 out of a possible 50.

Scores in the 26-32 range indicate some Autistic traits (Aspergers Syndrome).

Because I don't enjoy social situations I'm assuming since all that small talk and being around people were all hard no's while almost all the rest were middle two selections. Oh seems having an imagination and liking #'s also adds up too? Huh so people that enjoy games and DnD and the like are probably massive autistic's? Who designed this test? lol

30/50 but that has more to do with me being an introvert most of the time...I think.

I'm pretty strange, and also I'm different since my wife passed as well. I get along with everyone, make friends easily and am an excellent mediator/diplomat, but at the same time I like to do things solo, I don't even play games online with others (even MMO's) I play solo. I can live without human interaction more then any other person I have ever met in fact. I would be a great candidate to do a solo mission to mars for instance.

At the same time I'm imaginative and understand what people are saying, I'm very empathic, both understanding another persons perspective, and being affected by their emotions (and feeling emotions even from things I see on tv etc).

I've always been very good at seeing patterns, anything with numbers and was able to both teach myself to read (in pre-school...at an adult level before elementary), and learn basic algebra and programing skills in early elementary to start coding on Apple IIc's. Meanwhile there are many things that are obvious to other people that I don't see, or understand, and it's always been like that.

I'm absolutely horrible with dates, birthdays especially, and since I was about 40 my memory has started to go big time...I can literally read a book/series and forget it all within 3 months at this point. I used to have almost a perfect memory for things I read though when I was younger, even while reading on average a book a day, I'd rememeber just about everything from a book I read 10 years ago.

I was much more social when younger as well, and in my 20's I had a good group of friends which I would hang out with and spend most of my free time. I only became as isolated/anti-social in the last 10-15 years since my wife got sick and I was stuck home so much. Even WAY back to my 20's though, when I was playing on MUDs, I still prefered playing games solo...the only exception was in my early 20's with the large group of friends (we would play doom for instance or super mario land etc together and it was a blast).

I wouldn't say I'm high on the autism spectrum at all, but there have always been things that made me a bit different then the norm. Much of it could be caused by a combination of my very unusual childhood in combination with a very high IQ and learning rate. I have always wondered what kind of life I would have had if I had started out with any sort of real/normalish family.

I can relate to almost everything you said I think that just makes us introverts as opposed to autistic.

30.

On some of the questions, I wasn't quite sure. I wish they had an Unsure, Don't know, or Neither agree or disagree option.

Also I feel like the older I get the more antisocial I become. Growing up I did enjoy being social and had a ton of friends, but pretty much around my 20s I slowly just had enough of peoples shit and Id rather just not deal with their stupid drama anymore. Sometimes you cant escape some peoples drama because you happen to be related.
