Yes. Nelson Mandela faked his death so he could manipulate the timestream without anyone getting wise. What his ultimate goal is I don't know, but it is definitely happening.

Most people do things very similarly. Shower, drive, watch tv, talk, order from a restaurant, it would make sense that forgetting and being misinformed are things we do very similarly as well.

Oh, so like people always knew the show Looney Tunes was called "Looney Tunes" but they feel like they remember it being called "Looney Toons" because it feels like it would make more sense?

Human memory is infamously janky. Theres no way its an alternate dimension thing, though its a fun idea.

Whats most likely actually happening is meme theory.

It's probably because of Tiny Toon Adventures.

The Berenstain Bears thing seriously has me shook though.

Like, it would be one thing for an adult to read it as "Berenstein" because maybe they've seen last names similar to that all the time, but for a child? That's what I can't get over. Why would I pronounce it as "STEEN" when there was an A? I was a really good reader when I was a kid.

In my case, my mom read them to me as Berenstein.

thats 100% what berenstain is. we were read in school by the librarian and thats how she pronounced it.

everyone was read to as a child and it was pronounced that way so you remember it that way.

its so easy.

The Mandela one is just dumb as fuck cuz some other guy died in prison but even growing up in the 90s and watching him released from prison with my own eyes and his eventual presidency, never once did someone mention, "i thought he was dead??".

The Mandela Effect is nonsense made up by people too proud to admit they were taught or remembered some little piece of trivia wrong.

Thinking something is spelled differently or misquoting a movie is just a human flaw, not proof we live in the Fringe universes. People are stupidly proud for some reason.

The mandela effect reddit is a mixture between utterly harrowing and hilarious to read because a lot of the people there seem like they have some sort of mental problem that prevents them from remembering even like.. Really simple things. And they're attributing it to the mandela effect. That, and they somehow become convinced random people are dead constantly

The brain is notorious for cutting corners. It's been said we hallucinate the world based on the raw data we get from our senses. This is why you can have dreams that are indistinguishable from "reality."

The brain can save processing time ignoring "Berenstain" for "Berenstein" because the former is the exception out of the countless times we encounter the latter in everyday life. It's only under direct scrutiny or after being pointed out that the brain is forced to notice the difference.

This is the entire foundation of "slight of hand." If you know what to look for, you'll see the misdirection clearly and wonder how you've managed to miss it for all this time.

There is a psychology experiment called "the gorilla in the group." The subject is told to memorize what a group of people are doing and wearing. Then they were asked if they noticed anything strange. Most of the participants were so focused on the group of normal students, they didn't notice a man in a gorilla suit walk through the frame.

The name was in cursive, so hard to tell. And also the VHS tapes which were somewhat common had typos that said Berenstein on them.

Now you see...the cursive is probably where I made my mistake. That's probably what it is!!

No it's literally the worst meme and people just use it because they don't just wanna admit "eh, maybe I was wrong."

So instead they'll just make up the we're living in an alternate universe or some shit.

That's not saying some don't get me, but I just go, "oh that's weird" and then move on with it.
