Then he should be impeached if true. This is not what the office entails. But, I don't believe this is the case either.

And, yes, to whoever asked Trump has not been good at uniting the country. I get that he feels catering to the other side which has some really appalling policies is weak and not best for the country, but I feel he could realize he can unite the country without having to cater to their demands also. Rubbing it in their face is hardly conducive imo.

Even without much speculating on his business dealing, or potential Russian benefit, you also have to reconcile his supposed anti-war stance with deploying troops to Saudi Arabia for a similar defensive purpose. Except the defensive purpose is against Iran, who Trump helped provoke in the first place. And then reconcile THAT with Congress's general disapproval of Trump's treatment of Saudi Arabia. And also Trump literally saying that the Saudis are paying us to do this.

I can't possibly navigate this maze of actions in a way that makes me think Trump is not acting selfishly.

IMO, his clear NEED to fight back verbally when someone insults him to make himself feel better is a trait I would not expect a true sociopath to exhibit.

A sociopath would just ignore these slights unless he had something practical to gain from fighting back. Donald does it out of pure emotional need often,

I'm not an expert by any means, but how I see it is that Trump almost certainly would be diagnosed as Narcissistic Personality Disorder based on his behavior, and lower levels of empathy are present in that diagnosis, and it fits better than sociopathy or anything else to explain how his mind works to an outside observer.

Not really. He assumes everyone loves him. I don't think he really cares how people perceive him, or he'd be really worried about his approval ratings instead of boasting about them. Trump cares about one thing and one thing only: Donald Trump. He's a con-artist. He knows how to manipulate people. But he doesn't care about what they think. Anyone who is loyal to him, is useful. Anyone who isn't, he must destroy.

Wow, Hunter more or less confessed. He called Ukraine a swamp and said he exercised poor judgment in getting involved.

I think Trump's cheapness actually helps him a lot in relating to non-rich people. Hunter Biden, being from a rich, well-connected family, probably felt $600k a year for sitting on a board was a perfectly normal thing. Like, that's probably the going rate for sitting on corporate boards. Similarly, Hillary probably felt 250k for a speech was ordinary and reasonable.

But to average people, these kinds of sums are outrageously large. Trump works hard to never pay a cent he doesn't have to, so he remains aware of the value of money.

Yeah, Buttigieg has made some bad decisions like this lately. Makes me regret that at one point I had him at like #2 or #3 on my personal preference list.

It wasn't about this, but AOC called him out the other day when he went after Warren on saying she wouldn't do big donor events for herself and Beto with GOP-like language and talking points on buybacks.

Mayor Pete already had backlash from a couple candidates. He went after Warren on her switch to grassroots funding (and so also Bernie by association), he went after Beto on his gun stance (drawing the ire of Harris and Booker in the crossfire) and now there's that M4A attack ad. With this combo of hot takes he has successfully generated beef with every major candidate even slightly to the left of him just in time for the debate. I'm impressed.

He's clearly positioning himself as the closest thing to Biden and hoping Biden drops out.
