Lets say I'm doing a beginner full body workout, 3 days a week - squat, bench, dead, rows.

Can I do abs in 3 days in between? I want aesthetic abs and arms.

Can I also do arms or will that hurt my other lifts?

Reason I dont juts add em on to the regular workout is because the regular workout takes too long. I literally dont have time.

Strong core equals strong lifts. Do abs erry day. Do arms once a week.

Another thing, my MWF workout takes forever...I do this workout:

Is it bad if I workout 6 days a week instead of 3, doing the press and chinups/rows on the days in between?
So...
Mon: Squat,bench
Tue: Press, rows/chinups
Wed: DL, bench, +2 sets of squat
Thur: press, rows/chinups
Fri: Squat, bench
Sat: Press, rows/chinups
Sun: Rest

That way I have more energy to do press and rows, and I have time to do arms and abs too. And this way I'll have enough time to do 5 sets instead of 4. But even without abs and arms, by the time I get to rows/chinups, I'm low on energy. I already drink a coffee before working out. I dont want to OD on caffeine or else I can't sleep.

Are you seeing progress? Keep doing what you're doing. If not, change it up.

It would probably be better to incorporate arms and abs into your MWF workout if youre doing full body 3 days a week. Ascetic abs is more dependent upon your diet than anything. Sit ups, crunches, etc. help but diet is the key.

Why is your regular workout taking taking so long? Are you doing a lot of reps/sets or is your rest time long? Its probably fine to do what youre suggesting but you may end up more exhausted since youre not isolating muscle groups for certain workout days. Like its better to have a pure leg day, pure back day, chest day, arm day, and so on.

Everyone is different so I would say try out what youre suggesting for two weeks. If its not working, then change it ASAP. Personally, I like to do full body 3x per week. Ill do squats , deadlifts, bench, pull ups and chin ups, crunches, sit ups, leg press, hammer press, leg curls, dumbbell curls, triceps pull down, lat pull down, light cardio, etc. but I have plenty of time to spare.

The important thing is that your body is getting rest and recuperating. 3x week full body is optimal. Just make sure you dont tire yourself out by doing more than you should on the between days. You dont want to be bench pressing heavy weight with sore arms after all.

Its probably the rest + warmup sets. But I can complete bench, squat, and press, 4 sets each, with good energy. But after that I have low energy to complete chinups and/or rows. And if I'm gonna flip my back workout to the next day, I might as well do press that day as well. And on that day I can do just 6 sets of arms. On the squat/bench days I can do abs.

I'm not worried about going super hard on arms right now, since I'm just starting off again.

Not to mention after about 3-4 months I'm probably going to switch to a standard 4-5 day PPL routine, after I milk my noob gains with this full body stuff.

How long is your routine taking you? You're not doing a ton of exercises here. Even with some dicking around that should be like 45 minutes tops.

But honestly you'd probably be fine one day a week combining rows/overhead press into a compound lift that also incorporates curls. Essentially just row into a curl then into an overhead press. If you find that your shoulders still have plenty more strength just superset a few of those at the end. Same thing for if you find that you'd be able to do more rows.

Your abs are made in the kitchen but you're engaging them in other lifts naturally so I wouldn't bother with them at this point in your career. Wait until you have some natural definition and then you can visually see what parts you'd like to work on more.

Well, I guess I'll try to stick to the 3 days per week for now and just get straight to business. If I find myself routinely zapped of energy for rows/chinups, then I may just leak that over to the next day or later that evening when I get home from work.
