I think it's tied to the evolution of her character. As she becomes more independent, more her own person, her wardrobe reflects that change.

Iirc Harley has at this point been out of the clown suit more than she has been in it outside of occasional animated appearances. Could be remembering wrong though im not really all that invested in the character.

I will say that in the live action movies, having her play the role makes it a lot more tolerable. She does really well with what she's given.

I still would like it a lot more if she dressed... less slutty. Maybe exactly like the original cartoon would be hard to make work but at l least somewhat like that would be a big improvement.

Sex sells. Not many wanna see Harley looking like a jester like in Batman TAS. Maybe they'll make a new Batman movie and portray her like that again. Batman has many different styles also. It's just really a different artist concept.

They could make a new Batman series where his outfit is black and pink. Don't like it don't watch it. I prefer TAS style tbqh. Nolan's trilogy was great.

Suicide Squad Joker and Quinn style were nice also. I grew up watching Adam West as a kid. Enjoyed it back then. Would I as an adult watch it now? Naw doesn't appeal to me. The outfits were ok. I liked Batman and Batman Returns. Disliked the next 2 movies.

Presumably they're talking about how in Suicide Squad he pushes her into the same chemical that that made him crazy, as opposed to the original animated story origin where she fell in love with him and chose to follow him of her own volition. A lot of people don't like the change because they feel it takes her agency away.

The trailer to Suicide Squad was great. I really didn't enjoy the movie. I was expecting something else...Oh well I won't be rewatching it.

I like Batman stuff done a certain style. The dark tone films appeal to me. Ah well can't have every movie please everyone lol. I'm sure there are people who won't rewatch The Dark Knight. Personally 1989 Batman is probably my fave movie...a bit off topic but meh.

I haven't seen any of the new Batman/Suicide Squad stuff but I just assumed they changed her outfit to make her feel like a more real person, and not some total weirdo in a weird clown costume.

They made Catwoman into the fetish model version of Audrey Hepburn.

I'd say Harley Quinn has fared far, far better when it comes to remaining true to the character's origins. No offense to Audrey, but she and Catwoman are at opposite ends of the spectrum.

Lol that seems kinda random. I had to google all of that to understand what you were referring to. This is like saying heath ledger's joker design was because of The Crow, that they wanted to do a similar makeup and hairstyle look.

Bruce Timm (her co-creator) said that people complaining about Harley being a sexual character haven't been paying attention because she has been since the beginning. iirc he said this in response to people bitching about Harley and Nightwing having sex in one the DC animated movies.
