I'll probably use that PC parts picker site to help

How much should I expect to spend if I want to be able to play 4k/60fps with very high or max settings on most games? But also have a little bit of future proofing (exclude monitor cost from overall price)

Am I looking at the 1.5k range?

don't aim for 4k 60fps
really not worth it cost wise or future proofing wies
just go 1080/60fps
and about 1200

My rig was about 1000-1200 and smoothly handles everything at max settings. Thats 1080. Never tried 4K.

4k is literally 4 times as much pixels, it takes way more than you imagine.

Hell, even my 2080 would struggle at times

for 4K/60fps, Id say around $3k. Biggest costs will be the graphics card. 2080ti run about $1.2k. 4K g-sync monitors can run upwards of $1k.

id say its easier to go for 1440p/60+FPS. 2070supers and 2080supers are far more reasonable.

4k/60 is too far high-end for $1500. A GTX 2080 Ti, one of the few cards that can run new games at 4k, cost $1200 USD alone

Would I be able to do 1440p/60fps at very high/max settings consistently with Intel Core i5 9600K and GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER?

I think you should be able to do at least that.

Do you think I'd be able to do 4K30fps with that set up if I desire? While keeping everything at very high/max?

Specs for games are gonna get a huge bump next year when next gen arrives so keep that in mind. An 8 core CPU and a big SSD drive are essential for that at the very least even if it doesn't seem so right now.

Maybe I'll just wait to see how everything plays out with the new consoles before I decide what to build then. Thanks
