I'm totally not doing it just to hack and install Legend of Legaia

But if I was, I suppose it would be a great system to play it, the game never used analog

Analog controllers work fine once newer software is running. Also worth noting, 1.2 is out which features OTG and some networking with a compatible USB NIC.

The only PS1 game I miss and miss hard is Legend of Dragoon.

I still have the ps1 releases of both games and would just play them on either my ps2 or ps3 rather than jumping through extra hoops.

I own both games, but my Legend of Legaia is an ex rental copy. The condition is poor enough that I suffer freezing often around the mid point of the game. I was able to back it up on PC though, the disc drive there can read it a bit better than my PS1 or PS2 ever could. I once decided to run it on PSP, but eh, bigger screen and real controller would be preferred. I never liked playing PS1 games there on a tiny screen. Would be happy to have bought it if it was on PSN.

I got that one on PSN, so if you don't mind digging out / buying an older system, you could still play it easily.

I don't even need that, I grabbed one of the PSClassic compatible 8bitdo USB adapters for my Switch since it was the same price as the regular ones without PSClassic support.

Just dug up old PS1 games. I'm also (not) considering Fighting Force, Klonoa and Rival Schools. Though those discs ran better than Legaia ever did.

Best RPG I had. Gave away stuff like Legend of Dragoon, Digimon World 3 and Star Ocean 2, but held onto that one.

And Granstream Saga for some reason.

I have two, but I won't hack them. I use them for my PSN purchases on two different accounts. If I could find a cheap one, I'd get a third and hack that. But the price jumped up from NZ$28 to NZ$200+ and then they stopped showing up on the site I use. :(

Also, I might let my shithead brother take this with him when he leaves on the boats. I got some racing games and a Tony Hawk game, put those on and he will love it. He can't take a full sized system, but a PS Classic would be more likely.

New Zealand. I tried all shops around here that had any, their stock is gone. A second hand store had one for NZ$80, but minus the USB power cable and I heard the PS Classic is really specific about power input stuff.

USB power cable

I don't think they usually come with those. But a regular USB mini cable will suffice, I think.

It is really picky. I didn't want to buy one without and find I lack any that work.

But I don't like playing games on PSP. Heck, since most of my PSP library now is digital (had lots of UMDs, but don't have so many after the break in, replaced most with PSN), I just play those on TV with the PSTV as well. PS4 controller is great for them. :P

You could pick up a Raspberry Pi for around the same price and it runs PlayStation games much better. Morse controller options, too.

I've read that it takes a lot of work to hack the PS Classic into decent shape. Not worth it, IMO.

Had a look, can only find two sellers on the local site. One is selling a Pi 3 for more than the PSC, and they have no sale feedback. The other guy has low feedback, but it is still a lot more than the other guy. However they are selling a Pi 1 Model B. I don't believe that was a powerful system? Could I use it for much? The price at least is low that I could buy both the PSC and this.
